I am pretty sure the Great Manitou and quite sure that the beavers don't believe in intellectual property rights. I wouldn't be surprised if the lot of 'em showed up at the next G-20 meeting throwing Molotov cocktails.

We made it to May - and they said it wouldn't last.

Sue Young fell to the ALBs, now they're advancing on Kumning, not sure why.

Akyb and Cox's Bazar are building up nicely, the ALB unit to the east of Akyab looks like a cav unit. I'm beginning to think they're going to insert themselves between the 2 outposts, just to be bloody nuisances.

East African Brigade has arrived at Mombers, they'll be off to sunny Oz to bolster the defences there. There's a sweepstake on how many of the crews of the APs will come back with Kenyan crotch rot.

Before you send the East African Brigade to Oz, you might want to do some opinion sampling among the Mau Mau folks.

BTW, speaking of crotch rot, there is a big empty troopship and fast AK convoy headed for Aden (that I started back to Aden from Oz when you were visiting the Admiralty). They are south of Diego Garcia.

BTWA, I started one of the P-40 squadrons at Perth toward Alice aboard luxury steam locomotive (now that we knwo where Kaga is). I also started a Tenth Air Force squadron to the Western Far East via slow boat. I don't think you are going to be very impressed.

I saw them. They just passed the tankers going the other way with fuel from Abadan to Oz.

Ah, perhaps you could engage some of the Timorese catering community, then. Their orders are way down.

Don't blab this around but the Mayan Economic Indicator appears headed back down. My Mayan housekeepr just asked for TWO days work this week.

This could mean the other employer that was paying her $125 a day, fired her because she washed her Angorra sweater in the washing machine

---OR---

We are headed for a nasty double-dip recession

--OR---

All the undocumented Mayan housekeeprs from Arizona moved to Claifornia and now there is a labor glut

On balance, I would advise holding high quality debt obligations or carrying some gold bars in a special belt inside your underwear.*

* If you are reading this then you really need to man up and start making some decisions on your own. Ask yourself this...if people purporting to give financial advice really believed what they were saying then why would they tell you about it instead of going out there and doing it themselves? Same thing is true at the track with those idiotic expert predictions. By natural selection, only the idiots sell their predictions because if they were any good they would take the bets themselves. Your shoes are untied, too.

*******************May 2, 1942********************

Some dinosaur Marine Vindicators from the late Triassic attacked the Jap ships off-loading at New Perth. 2 of 10 hit their mark, operating from New Edinburgh. An AK was severely damaged and Nagato was hit once with no secondary explosions. The A-24 squadron at New Edinburgh did not participate. I was later discovered they were on Naval Search orders again.

The Jap carriers disappeared again after declining to attack the transports at Norfolk. Too bad, I had about 40 P-40's waiting for them.

Both NP and NE are fully operational again but the fighters are really getting tired. No naval bombardments today. Some TBD's and more Vindicators are prepping at Suva for a possible surge to New Scotland. The Allied heavies and RN carrier force at Wellington are going to put to sea to the South because of the risk of the Jap carriers showing up. I will need icebreakers pretty soon. The USN carriers refueled SE of Samoa and are moving to link up.

18,000 tons of total supplies behind Allied lines on New Scotland. I asked for a volunteer AK to try to make the run form Norfolk to flush out the carriers.

Personally, I'm betting that the Great Manitou's beaver-tail slapping sign is a more accurate predictor of Mayan Economic Growth than the indicators you have suggested.

My guess re: her request for more days is more basic: you pay on time, and her other clients are deadbeats.

Mayan housekeepers are famous for having a keen understanding of the importance of actual cash flow, rather than running their household by leveraging debt to capital at a 30:1 ratio, taking advantage of accrual rather than cash accounting, and ignoring the potential asset value of discounted future potential earnings (Which probably also explains why most Mayan Housekeepers remain solvent with steady jobs, and the State of California is broke and furloughing state employees)

On another topic, I can't wait to see what Branch Rickey and DC&H cook up to annoy the damn Yankees and that Dimaggio kid: since Rickey is involved, the Big Dodger in the Sky must be waiting with bated breath!

Mayans are good with numbers. The last time they made a calendar was about 1,000 years ago and it still hasn't run out.

*************May 2, 1942***************

Good turn for the good guys

New Scotland: The Pterodactyls flying out of New Edinburgh prompted a very harsh response from the Jap carriers which are now E of New Scotland. They nearly shut down the airfield but paid a high price. The rust bucket convoy at Norfolk got antsy and moved toward New Scotland in good weather. They were attacked by Bettys from New Ullapool. One group of 9 Bettys scored EIGHT torpedo hits (88%). Fortunately, 4 were on the same 1000 ton AK so only 3 ships were lost. Even so, those Bettys are murder. The rust bucket force will be admonished and sent back to Norfolk. One single AK will go in as the brave Zulu warrior to test the enemy's firepower. I will have to thin the crowd out at New Edinburgh airfield and try to cover it from New Perth. Nagato, still shepherding transports at New Perth, was hit by a single bomb from an A-24 and a number of Vindicators were pounced upon by mean Zeroes.

In retrospect, this would have been a perfect opportunity for a carrier battle with the entire Jap air complement off attacking New Edinburgh......but the retrospectoscope had some unmentionable glop on it so an opportunity is wasted.

Here are the air losses:

This was a good outcome for the Allies but also a cautionary tale. That is a beautifully coordinated strike of 167 aircraft Can you imagine what that would do to Allied carriers? I still have some more "attritting" to do.

So Stalker Girl has 4 days off and she has been bugging me to go somewhere but I have just been getting dive-bombed at work and there is really no way I can take Friday off....so she calls me from work and floats this idea for she and her 30 year old, hot, 5-7 blonde girlfriend with the new boob job and a penchant for drinking to the point of amnesia to go to Las Vegas for the weekend.

Hmmmmmmm? I proposed a trip to San Diego with me on Saturday, instead. It seemed prudent.

PS....I am also pretty sure I just got worked Maybe I can get even by secretly installing AE on her laptop and taking it with us.

Definitely worth calling in sick with something bad. Try calling in sick with Ebola. No, too suspicious. Pertussis? Nah, you'd have to fake a dry cough for a month. Shigella? Yeah-call in sick with Shigellosis-that oughta do it.
