Now that is a very useful feature!

Can that also indicate the area covered by on or off-map artillery?

On map only. But the resulting explosions and sounds of OBA are size relative.

What are the breakdown and immoblilization rates for tanks?

My question turns on the fact that at Kursk, nearly all the Elefants fielded broke down climbing hills or were immobilized by mines. The StuG formations had to carry on the fight without the majority of these beasts.

Thus, will an Elefant breakdown more (read immobilize) than a StuG?

An even more prestigious start were the Panthers, at the other end of the Kursk battlefield, that almost all broke down or caught fire.

We are working on this and if we tell you any more we'll have to send a hit man to Canada......

Yes, but it doesn't tell you where the scatter will occur (which you would never know anyway until it actually fell.

Yes, but it doesn't tell you where the scatter will occur (which you would never know anyway until it actually fell.


Stridor is correct of course. When plotting OBA you get the box pictured in my shots. After it is plotted, you get the bullseye on map to indicate where the shots are supposed to land. Those do not change size with area covered.

Technically the Kursk German beasts were "Ferdinands".

After Kursk, the ferds were renamed "elefants" and they were all given a bow MG and cupola as part of that.

This is similar to what happened later with the Hornisse /Nashorn (88mm PzJg, similar to Hummel). Except then the hornisse was given scant upgrades--just the renaming to Nashorn by fuhrer order.

Here is a 500 meter map with 60 second turns and no reaction phase (60:0). After playing with the SOP settings I will probably be playing most of my scenarios with the 60 second turn without a reaction phase.

I just like the things that happen with that time frame and the WEGO system. Now with some form of survival response the game plays really well.

This is a village in the Ukrains where a clash took place with smaller sized forces. The village is one of those places where they kind of flow around terrain features like fields and orchards, then there are some more buildings and more terrain features.

Hard to control the buildings in this environment.

The original games in the PC series were all "weathered" and one of the most requested things I saw were for the "pretty" versions. Everybody has their own level of comfort with that. What's nice about that is that the development team doesn't have to do all the mods for the game. Other modders can do their versions and when the update is released I would expect a flood of new mods for the game. Including those "dirty" versions some of us prefer.

My favourite thing in CM:BB was to mod all my German vehicles plain old dark grey and then put the red recognition flag on the engine deck. I found that at the upper level camera angle - where I normally played from - those bright red aerial recognition flags did exactly what they were supposed to do! I did play with bases on, too, but I liked the uniformity. Kind of like having my own miniatures set.

With the coins in PC:K I guess there is less 'need' for them but I may go the same route.

I would like to see all the models in the new clean version and then have the modders create various versions of dirty, muddy, rusty, etc.

not in this release, the model skins are set per model. however, JSGME works very nicely to manage this kind of thing and works with PCO just fine. And makes it pretty quick and easy to incorporate different skins.

There is a fully functional decal system which can do some of what you want, Rust, Dirt, tactical #s etc, per vehicle if desired. But they need to be designed per vehicle so that is up to the original skinner.

Here's one from the "Buying the Farm" scenario by Mad Russian. We're near the Komsomolets State Farm and one of our 45mm Anti-Tank Guns just took a flank shot at Panzer IVG that made it past our minefield.

I too am hoping for the modding community to work their magic for dirty/rusted vehicles.

Michael D, I believe I still have some Tigers roaming those other battlefields with the large maroon red Hakenkreutz flag emblazoned on their rear deck. It is one of my favorites too. Thanks!!!
