Ever considered becomming ur misses full time boy toy. Released time for real work, aka AE?
Not sure she or you'd accept it, but just saying.
Its sorta an internal joke i have with one of my friends that calls often.
If he can hear that im watching a replay of AE he always asks if im at "work". Guess AE does tend to eat alot of time.

Good luck on the hunting!

I hope you have better luck than i've been having. You know it's bad when you end up forwarding a resume on Craigslist after trying to sell a computer.

I remember being jealous of my friend's Timex-Sinclair 1000 with the tape drive. He had a pretty decent 'D&D'-like game on it.

I can still very clearly remember when i got my first Disk Drive (5.25 floppy external)....it was an "Indus", all black and sleek. After a year of working with cassette tapes, it was pure magic.......the equivilent of going from an Abacus to a Tandy scientific calculator.

lol....learned my first "hack" using it too. (figured out a crude way to subvert SSI's initial "copy protection")

It was amazing how long those disks lasted too. They did not start to fail till the early 2000's at which point i finally made the decision to junk my Atari 800 and all the disks i had acumulated and had been lugging around for nearly 15 years. Of course now i regret it a bit given all the nostaliga sites that have popped up. But then again, emulators make such lugging obsolete and now that i have an actual USB Atari Joystick, the games can actually be played on a PC the way they were meant to be played.

Considered, and in the short time, that happens. But the fact is I like to work (even if I have to return to retail, which I loath!) Actually , she'd love it! She hates housework, shopping ,laundry, ironing and errands (all of which I normally do, even if I'm working).

I have never in my life landed a job via a resume. It's always been a personal recommendation , direct application or the employer already knew me/of me. In my chosen field, (military/Naval/Aero-space museum work) there is generally very little money for paid workers. Generally I start as a volunteer and within a short period (as soon as a position opens generally) I ask for or am asked about it.

In retail, I find temping is a good way to go. Most store managers don't feel comfortable hiring me (I have experience from stock boy to store manager) as no one likes to have an underling more experienced then they. But a temporary who not only doesn't need training (and quite often can train the other newbies) is a blessing. And very little threat. At the end of the temp period, I generally have a job.

Not gramatically correct Mike. (The spelling Nazi isn't a grammar Nazi?). But, alright, I'll follow the standard. Incorrect though it maybe.

Watch out for a new virus!

Techie stuff:

Win32/Visal.B is a new worm that is currently propagating using mass emailing, and copying itself to local drives and network shares. Please note: the worm does not leverage a vulnerability in a specific product, but rather, uses a social engineering technique called URL obfuscation to trick a user to launch a malicious SCR file.

Human speak:

A fast-moving email worm that began spreading on Thursday has been able to affect hundreds of thousands of computers worldwide, anti-virus provider Symantec warned.

The email arrives with the subject “Here you have.” An executable screensaver that's disguised as a PDF document then tries to send the same message to everyone listed in the recipient's address book. The .scr file is a variation of the W32.Imsolk.A@mm worm Symantec discovered last month.

In addition to spreading through email, it can propagate through mapped drives, autorun and instant messenger. It also has the ability to disable various security programs.

Who cares. I have a Mac.

Yeah. You have a computer that no one even bothers to screw with!

The reason doesnt concern me so much as the result.

Of course! They have always had them. But how truly Euro are they? Do they use the Euro? And do they refer to themselves as European or Scandanavian. Using them as examples of Europe might be as skewed as using , oh say Puerteau Rico as examples of North Americans (Iie, they play soccer , very well).

Been my experience too....which is why after the deal fell through on the computer (and i noticed that the guy worked for a tech company locally via his signature), i offered a "tech geek" for sale as well if he and his company were interested. He told me to foward a resume so i did. odds are nothing will come of it, but after 1.75 years, i have nothing to lose by trying. Resumes and stale cover letters alone just don't do it.
