Hi all, quote:
ORIGINAL: Nikademus I can still very clearly remember when i got my first Disk Drive (5.25 floppy external)....it was an "Indus", all black and sleek. After a year of working with cassette tapes, it was pure magic.......the equivilent of going from an Abacus to a Tandy scientific calculator. lol....learned my first "hack" using it too. (figured out a crude way to subvert SSI's initial "copy protection") It was amazing how long those disks lasted too. They did not start to fail till the early 2000's at which point i finally made the decision to junk my Atari 800 and all the disks i had acumulated and had been lugging around for nearly 15 years. Of course now i regret it a bit given all the nostaliga sites that have popped up. But then again, emulators make such lugging obsolete and now that i have an actual USB Atari Joystick, the games can actually be played on a PC the way they were meant to be played. I bought my 5.25" External floppy for my Commodore 64 in 1986 when I was in USA... Leo "APollo11"
