This is the first classic style wargame that I can really get into and enjoy. Excellent UI, smooth play, addictive and historically convincing. Thanks Vic, money well spent.
Now I would like to see more small scenarios, please. The campaigns are really fun but it takes a while to finish them. Something to play in between, so I don't spend hours in front of the screen...:)

Again, this is another point in favor of there being an editor...these types of games go to a whole other level when they're opened up for others to make scenarios...

I am getting ready to make the plunge on this game. Sounds worthwhile and fun. I second the motion to have smaller scenarios- Maybe a Dunkirk withdrawal scenario, Race for the Meuse to name a couple. Smaller games for shorter play times and increase the overall utility.

Presumably they could use the existing map or more likely a snippet of the full map.

All these replies tie into what was mentioned on another thread (forget which one), namely, that there are alot of us wargamers out there who would love to play some games where we don't have to move hundreds and hundreds of units around. I know there are some games like that out there, and I'm not asking this game to be what it's not, just commenting on it because it seems that there might be a bit of a trend here...we've all got busy lives, wives, kids, etc., and we just don't have the time to move that many units for one turn!

Noted.

One option to have less troops under command is you play part of Poland or German armies in Case White or Case Yellow. Though I am not sure how pleasurable the experience will be of dividing troops between human and AI since cooperation and coordination might suffer.

best regards,
Vic

As long as there are no technical issues with it, I have found this to work rather well in adding command coordination difficulty with other games. It could be considered an extra layer of challenge.

OH NO. Monster games are the best. As a matter of fact I have several board and pc monster games that are my mistresses. There is nothing better.

Now, practically speaking, TPM is spot on, wife, kids, wife, career, wife, wife,...I would love some smaller scenarios. Small enough that I might not even get caught starting, playing and completing one.

totally agree with that. we need more (small) scenarios. i know the chances are bad. but could you imagine how many scenarios would be created if we had an editor..

Hey Vic,

Can you give us a hint of what is coming next? I remember that you mentioned that the African Campaign was a little too small to base the next game on, so the next logical campaign would be the Eastern Front, after France and the hypothetical Sealion. Smaller side missions could be based on the Balkan Campaign. Would really love to see Operation Barbarossa with this game engine.
