That's because you sent the majority of them to us!

And about English food. I like it. It's the adventurer in me. Despite many years of eating many different governments food, it is only in England (at college) that in the words of one of our lecturers , "For the 1st time in my life I really don't know what I'm eating. I can't even guess".

English food isn't really English though. We stole all the best meals from around the world, threw away the good bits and made our food from what was left

I like British food, which is handy 'cos I live here.

Stole it? Or mangled it beyond all recognition?

Yeah, with a little bit of help from the Germans,Austrians and Russians! 4 Against 1 and 1/2.

Maybe, but we did that well that we gave Boney more than one chance to win, that's British fair play in operation We could've beaten him in 6 months, but we were too busy having tea and being fair. 12 years and he just didn't really apply himself

We even had to bail out the Spanish and Portugese on the way.

The UK has always begrudged every penny spent on the armed forces and then wonders why we lose the opening rounds of every war. 'Twas ever thus.

Excepting for when you guys had a pretty well endowed military, won the opening rounds and then got pummeled at the end.

Judging by how that colony developed, I'm not so sure we actually lost that one We went somewhere alse and got tea and curry

And that colony turned into your banker!

Yes, and you still work for us, you give us money, fight our wars and come to see our Queen. And you speak our language, no matter how hard you try and disguise it with disproportionate usage of the letter 'z'. Not really broken the umbilical have you?

It's nice to look back on our humble beginings. Besides, would you really want us to truly abandon our poorer relatives? AND WE (Noah Webster) wrote the 1st dictionary for your language (to organize, regulate and "salvage" what we could of it) and your Oxford don's have been playing catch up ever since.

Trading Coca-cola and hamburgers for tea and curry? If you say so, sir. I think that smacks of sour grapes tho'

We also traded Hannah Montanna, Paris Hilton, grits and chocolate covered bacon.

I'd rather have a decent Madras washed down with a strong mug of tea than unidentified animal between two bits of soggy bread with brown lettuce and thousand island dressing that's been left in the sun and a bucket of brown carbonated sugar water.

EDIT: We also don't all pretend to be Irish once a year

My last word on this: Fergie. In the nude. Thank God for the Revolution!

I've got plenty more words. If they're to do with that last post then they're mostly

I suspect that your talking about different Fergies. CB is talking about ours. Dixie, are you talking about yours?

Yep. We've got two to choose from as well. Neither option is good...

You forgot 'sell you your only decent future weapons systems' too. Thankfully we had the presence of mind to update what was a passing rudimentary language, allowing its use for the masses worldwide.

You know how sometimes you can just tell your opponent in an online game is about 12 years old   I just played a Blood Bowl match online and despite the fact he was winning all I got from him (with plenty of spelling mistakes and text speak) was:
wow, ur such a cheater!
You keep rolling 6s.
You finally missed a block, after 12 attempts.
Another 6!  You're definately cheating.

Then he rage-quit after I tackled his player with the ball despite the fact he was still winning   I don't think he appreciated the comment when I told him I'd hacked the game so he'd only roll 1s.  Sometimes I despair for the youth of today, then I realise that I just don't care about them.  The youth of tomorrow had better not be such whiners though

Just be glad your PBEM opponents arent like that.

WE perfer to think that the French had help from US!

Kind of ironic (and fortuitous for us) that the French had their one major naval victory over the RN in support of Yorktown.

Well, that episode did greatly contribute to the fall of the French monarchy....

Y'all is strictly a regional dialect. Blaming the whole USA for that is as abominal as blaming you for the Scot's and Welsh. Or the cockneys.

And if your going to get nasty abouting shorting things, don't forget that you hail from the land that shortens EVERYTHING. The telly, bickies, wakies, tenny pumps,toff.....damned, I could go on all afternoon.

THAT they did all themselves. There were no Americans storming the Bastille or using the guillotine. Even Jefferson, the biggest Franco-phile the USA has ever produced broke with them (and punished the USA, especially new england) with the great embargo.

WAY to few beer in the mug! Treason! The BBM is outraged!

Surely thats not all you noticed.

She isn't that beautiful...

Beauty in this case is purely relative to the amount of beer consumed. That mug she's holding is not nearly enough. Two or three of those mugs of beer, plus the inevitable swaying to the ompah band might change the relevancy.

Chocolate covered bacon is very tradable, but what did you get for Hannah Montana and Paris Hilton?

I'm with on the curry over burgers and tea over coke.

Italy is the fat kid of Europe. We'd all rather ally with the strange spotty kid Belgium. You just know that somehow Italy is going to score an own goal (or fumble an important pass if you prefer) or give up and go home early.

WE gave you the Spice Girls and Bananarama

True! And we've still not forgiven you!

You seem to have done a good job of lumbering us with Madonna Take her back else we will be forced to send you the ginger one from Girls Aloud. And Russell Brand.

Furthermore, any attempt to send them back will be met by deployment of Graham Norton.

Consider that America being bombed by Russell Brand is fitting punishment for inflicting Katy Perry on you...

Chocolate covered bacon is very tradable, but what did you get for Hannah Montana and Paris Hilton?

I'm with on the curry over burgers and tea over coke.

I always thought chocolate covered bacon was an urban myth, like an honest Scouser. Imagine my, erm delight, to find actual chocolate covered bacon available to buy when I went to the US. Despite 24 years of English food it still looked bloody horrible. Was it a joke that no-one got until too late? Is it an attempt to cram the maximum of calories into the smallest possible area? Is it a joke for the tourists, like bull's testicles in the Mid-East? Or do people actually eat that stuff voluntarily?

I was thinking the same about Bananarama.
