I've decided to try my hand at getting a newsletter going on a some what regular basis. The main thrust will be online and play by e-mail games however other news that fits will be added as well. I can't say with any certainty how it will all mesh together. It will be web site supported. I think this important as I would like older newsletters stored, comments both pro and con, translations, and what ever else strikes me at the moment. Again I stress this is up in the air as to how it will come to any format. So I ask my prospective audience, HELP !!! I need a name both for the web site and the newsletter. Most of all I want your ideas, I just would like to gather them and make them available as well as support Matrix with a fansite/newsletter. However I will say that in no way am I affiliated with Matrix, (I hear a big sigh of relief from Matrix) so this does allow dessention as well as applause. Ideas please, names please. Thanks, Al Kinner aka Pack Rat

Sounds like a wonderful idea. How about "From the Front" "Combat News" "Ops Bulletins" Frankly Bill, "Flesh and Steel" sounds like a fantasy porn flick. Call the website www.combatnews.com. That's not a real URL BTW. So go ahead and use it. troopie ------------------ Pamwe Chete [This message has been edited by troopie (edited December 08, 2000).]

Ok here's my first retraction Joe Osborne has been kind enough to offer ideas and some of the time he really doesn't have, so in a very real way the newsletter WILL be an arm of Combat Command. It was my mistake in the sense that I misinterpreted Joes' response to my wondering if this was a welcome idea. If I've misunderstood again I'll just ask Joe to please straighten it out. Keep the names coming, but please try to keep the word "flesh" out of any further names So I guess "The Rats Nest" isn't good either? ------------------ Your mine is a terrible thing to lose. Hi, well given your screen name I would offer "The Rat Patrol" (ducks) First headline should be "Mantis takes over Gamenet server" have not been able to get in for a week now. ------------------ I'm not retreating, I'm attacking in a differant direction!

"Combat News" sounds like a winner for the newsletter. For the website "Tactical HQ" or "Tac Forward" or "FEBA" something to indicate an HQ like atmosphere. Also, volunteering to help.

Some more ideas: Call the newsletter Tac CP and the different sections of the newsletter could G-1, G-2, etc. To give it a German flair, how's about Hauptquartier? Labeling the different sections Ia, Ib, Ic, etc. How's about the grandiose title of "OKW"?

Okay, you have a valid point. So, why not the first idea, Tac CP? To the Rat, yes, I think "Mail Call" is okay.
