Im too lazy to search 63 sides so Ill ask here for my minor problem. Tracker worked always nice for me but now I get this message: "Der Befehl "java" ist entweder falsch geschrieben oder konnte nicht gefunden werden." Java and vcredist_x86.exe have been reinstalled but nothing changed. I had this problem once but I cannot remember how I solved it. Or do I need the file vcredist_x64.exe? OS is WIN7 and Tracker 1.61 1.60 is still working fine on my notebook using vista.

With the help of Nemo121; I found a number of errors on the LCUProduction screen. I've cleaned it up a little, standardised some and fixed these bugs: 1. LCU's AV, LoadCost and Percent is now the same as the LCU screen. 2. Removed APLoad. 3a. LCU's with disabled sqd incorrectly showed Manpower use; there is none when they are disabled. 3b. Arm and Veh are correct. 4. Added InPool in the bottom, but I might take is out and show the TOE numbers total instead. 5. Calculations for the Delay and Reinf Need were wrong (shift up)
Some problems still remain and I'm trying to think of some solutions. Here are the problems (I'm still testing and some of this below is just what I think is happening): 1. when a LCU arrives and there are enough devices in pool then no Points are used. 2. When a LCU arrives at less than TOE, the points are removed but as it fills out no more points are expended. 3. When a LCU is damaged, the total points are removed, it fills out over time with no further expenditure. 3. IF there aren't enough points then it draws points each turn until full.
Other things (I think - still testing) 1. Devices built (build rate) cost HI not ARM/VEH points.
Forgot to show - I've included supply use / day for plane operations ... even though Base Supply need includes this calculation, I wanted to break it down more.
I doubt this history will ever make it into Tracker, cause the DB will explode. What I was thinking though is not the histories as seen here, but just the current levels of skills for airgroups probably on the large Table. Would it be useful to see and use? Or can we do without it?

Damian: I know, but because I expect the next tracker update to precede the next AE patch, it will still be very useful!
Thx to both of you & cheers,
Moss
Moss - thanks. Hopefully we'll beat the next AE patch. I'm still working on the aircraft upgrade paths and some changes/additions to the Industry Screens. And still testing LCU Production. Screen shots when I'm satisfied with them.
In the aircraft comparation table could a new field called "True Gun Value" be added.
TGV should be gun value multiplied by the accuracy of the gun / 100
Because sometimes planes armed with 57mm gun or 40mm guns appear to be more effective than the planes armed with lower cal guns, which is untrue
Bliztk - where did you get this formula ? I know something better is probably needed than out generic "gunValue", but there are a number of different formula's floating around; including witpStaff's
quote:
OPGV: Contains the “Offensive Penetrating Gun Value” which trys to represent the ability of the plane class to shoot forward. The formula used to calculate it is: SQRT(effect*accuracy*LOG(range))*(1+penetration)*number_of_forward_guns/2 This shows that the penetration capability of a gun plays an important role (thus the name) in contrast to WitP's numbers which IIRC only take effect and number into account.

Compare the Buffalo's to the Zero / Oscar V Warhawk/Aircobra... and others; it doesn't look right IMO. I still think something better might be hatched up (or can you justify it) & I don't want to put in something else that I'm unsure of.

Formula is mine
I think that penetration is not as important. Only two Soviet planes have a "3" armor and only two planes (Hurricane IId Trop and Hurricane IV) that have a "2" armor value arrive before mid-late 1945.
Works like a charm. You two are awesome. I can but gravel at the feet of the Masters....
Thanks for the kind words Mac, Floyd will be impressed though ... Herwin is not part of the Tracker Boys Team
[edit] Usually 64bit OS needs a different configuration than you are running; guess you are using 32 bit Java (which in all instances you need to) Cheers

Damien -
Pardon me for not communicating clearly; you and Floyd are the Tracker Boys, I was also thanking Herwin for contacting you and working thru the problem.
Hello For a while I,ve been dealing with the lack of regions listed in the tracker( I am Japan). The only ones I have are Japan. So I had a look in the menus and saw that you could create region definitions but I dont know how to add bases to them?

Morning Floyd and Damien. I was wondering if you can add something if possible. On the Industry screen, Global tab. You compute the total supply and total fuel at both bases and loaded on TFs. Is it possible to have a column for the total fuel in ships bunkers and total supply that LCUs have? And then the total would include those. My total numbers fluctuate and I think mostly because ships are refueling and LCUs are drawing supply.

A few weeks ago I went through the list of Scenario 28 bases (which adds a small number to Scenario 1) and found a couple of errors in the region definitions. Attached here is the corrected file I exported.
EDIT: BTW, even though I looked at Scenario 28, this file might/should be good for all 4 DB scenarios.
Much thanks, for now it looks like a lot has been added. I am tracking scenario 1 and you quote scenario 28 so I dont know what the difference is but very good nonetheless...

I know that Scenario 28 added a base on the west coast for Camp Pendleton (near San Diego), and I know a base on Java was added (I forget its name), not sure what else (if anything). For those bases that do appear in Scenario 1, the region assignments are correct as far as I noticed (meaning no actual errors).
Of course, region assignments are also a matter of opinion. You might decide that you like to make a few adjustments here and there just to suit your own preferences.

I've been looking to add that for next release ... with some additional in for refueling and fuel use.

Thanks witqs,I'll get Floyd to add that in the region-defs for next release.

I just bought a Win 7 machine. Could you go through a full explanation on how to get Tracker to work in Win 7? My previous experience has been with XP...
Or perhaps include this in a ReadMe file with WitPTracker?

You can follow these: 1. Make sure you have 32bit Java installed (you can also have 64 bit installed) 2. Make sure you have the 32 bit C++ redistributable Libraries 3. Your batch file should be this. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar" pause 4. If you can't get the batch file to run, try using the attachment below. Instead of running from the WitPTracker.bat file, use the WitPTracker.exe file in the ZIP archive.

Follow-up on this ... added bunker fuel from ships and histories. Did this as a calculated field based on endurance and ship class - so Floyd will be happy to hear that it won't expand the DB...
Got to add LCU supplies but that should be a snap - I hope. This will enable me to look better at Blitzk's request earlier about the supply and fuel tab.
Running out of room unfortunately; really need to redo the whole Production screen but that will have to wait.
Of course I hope this will also allow me to look at bunker fuel capacity and use as well...
Better ... still it doesn't account for lcu's on ships as we don't do those histories. I guess I could add up that at the end Thinking I might limit it to 30 turns too as there is a bit of calculation going on for this.

OK Guys. Here's the nice 'glitch' that the omniscient powers at Microsoft created for all you Windows 7 users.
In the end, though, I did get WitPTracker to work.
I did all that n01487477 said to do to install WitPTracker correctly on my computer. I indicated the save file path as the standard WitP AE SAVE folder.
Lo and behold when I ran the program, WitPTracker said it couldn't find the file. What
So I went looking in the folder and, well, none of my last 15 save files where there (I save every day individually in its own slot and then copy the pile when I have no slots left to a subfolder. Call me nuts! )
So where the heck were the files As I said, WitP AE was showing the standard path when I was on the Save screen....
So I do a 'search' for the file I wanted to load in File Manager (or whatever they're calling it these days. Hey, I started using PC's with DOS 1.1 and their no faster now )
I finally find my file (#31) in some folder called C:\Users\Papa\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\WitPAE1\SAVE..... Huh?
I can't even see this folder "AppData" in my Users folder... OK so show me all the hidden folders (which I do through the Control Panel) and VOILA, yes there's this crazy folder with this crazy path with my saves in a folder I didn't know even existed! Who was the 'bright light bulb' at Microsoft that came up with this idea?
Well, needless to say all I then had to do was copy the save file to the WitPTracker folder (in the WitP AE program folder).
WitPTracker works fine (Thank you, n01487477 et al. ). But boy does Microsoft need a shake for making this all unduly complicated...
