ORIGINAL: Apollo11 Hi all, quote:
ORIGINAL: Nikademus Those darn Italians..........they forsaw the birth of the "Yugo" and like Skynet....attempted to alter the timeline by going back deep into the past in the hopes of sparing the sanity of many a future car owner. they FAILED. The "Yugo" was just an awful car... nobody liked it here... Believe it or not it was still produced until just few year ago under name "Tempo"! BTW, did you guys actually see it in USA and knew people who owned it there? Leo "Apollo11" Yep, Yugo's were here, and I saw a few back in the day, but didn't know any owner personally. In the mid 1980's they were trying to set up an assembly plant in my home town. It failed. Pretty much like everything else about the car. Steve: Did you grow up in Trieste? Nope. Believe it or not, it was Saco, Maine. And it was part of a deal to revamp a massive sewer hole of an abandoned mills on, Saco Island. It was also top be apartments,Condo's,a marina, stores and restaurants and even a brew pub. The Brew pub and some small businesses, the apartments and a AMTRAK station made it, but no Condo's,Marinas,or Yugo's. They did get the University of Maine though. (If you are curious, email me and I can give you the insider scoop).
