Hey lets get this clear its only you yanks with your weird sense of spelling that spell Capitol as in Capitol. We who know how to spell proper have always had Capital cities. as the Aussies used to - and at this time probably still were semi part of our Empire they had a Capital city.

Grrr colonials! I imagine you lot will start spelling things with z instead of s like we do!

Roger

AFAIK, all orcs* are base... didn't know they were aircraft mechanics as well.

(*i am allowing for the funky "Englisher" spelling seen here in your original message.)

But you didnt allow for the wine with dinner and the distraction of the Bears game on TV.

As for orcs being aircraft mechanics I refer you to Dixie.

We're not doing a remake of "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert". Are we?

Lord Admiral Sprior: I believe the references to "CD" that you quoted alluded to "Coastal Defense", not "Cross Dresser" units.

ETA: However, if you can find a subject that can shoot ping pong balls out of unexpected orifices, perhaps you'll find a terrific distraction for JJ and friends.

I can see it now: A skirmish line of ping-pong ball firing bar ho's assaulting the Japanese lines en masse, whilest a brigade or two or your lads slipped around the flank and gives the WJDs the what for.

ETA II: I'd better go and take my medication for the day.

If nothing else, it would certainly qualify as a "demonstration".

Bah! Aircraft mechanic indeed. I, sirrah, am an aircraft technician as evidenced by my rank, qualifications and cynicism. If you had passed your exams and done well at school you could have been part of this elite group.

Jealousy is a terrible thing, but it's OK. I forgive you, I know you can't help yourself. I would give you a hug but you would probably get the wrong idea given your background.

Editor's Note: Point of clarification for the younger readers. The poster by the name of Dixie appears to have included a clever reference to homosexuality in the Royal Navy. This is akin to dropping the first nucelar weapon in a conflict and will almost certainly require some type of caustic response. Please stay tuned.

Oh Calcutta!

I'm not sure where it is but I don't think it is anywhere in the Pacific Ocean Areas, Canada West of Great Slave Lake, Easter Is., Panama or La Tortuga.

One can only draw one inference from this attack. Johnny Jap has gained intel on Operation Weasel and ist rying to kill the Hurris before theymove to Oz.

By ra way, another 9 Bettys (Betties) were lost on the way home

Apparently your brief trip to The Cornfield did not leave a sufficient impression on you in regard to mockery of posters in the thread.

How would you feel about a Lanai Room at Club Gitmo? You would be bunking with Richard Reid.

So I am driving to work...late...and my daughter calls me on the cell. Imagining that a meteor has hit the house or some such thing, I take the risk of a $300 fine and answer it.

Me: Yeah, what's up?

Daughter: Daddy, how do you do laundry?

Here is my advice. Don't let those precious laundry moments pass you by when your kids are growing up. Put down the mouse and try to get the AE turn done AFTER you go over sorting colors and the like. It all just goes by so quickly.

I'll never have the "joy" of trying to teach a teenager the concept of bleach for whites. Thank God for small blessings.

My daughter has only just mastered the black art of laundry but stubbornly refuses to stick it in the tumble drier. Instead it's spread over the family bathroom radiator and hallway bannister because it's "green".

However preparing a meal beyond buttered toast is still something to be mastered.

The most important, and most challenging, of the black arts to be mastered in childhood is that of financial independence. Everything else pales in comparison.

Stick some baked beans on and you've got a real meal there.
