I'm wondering how does one make and use a new stratmap that has only 44 maps and is smaller than the one in LSA?
I'm also wondering if it's possible to use old CC5 maps here, or do you have to "convert" them or anything?

CC5 maps will work fine... no need for conversion.

See the Classic CC4/CC5/Meuse/UTAH/OMG-firefox strat maps for guidance (ie it has already been done.)... and soon GJS

I was hoping for an step by step tutorial as looking at those stratmaps doesn't tell me a thing except what graphic files I need.
What I need to know is how to make the game use the right maps for the new stratmap and to put the map sectors at the right place. Same goes for attacking/moving arrows and allied/axis symbols showing who is controlling the map.

Btw you were right with the maps.
I tested replacing ArnNorth with stock CC5 Cerentan which I renamed into ArnNorth.
It worked almost perfectly: the BTD file (or whatever it's called) couldn't be used as when I started the map it said it couldn't read it. Also the VLs on the map remains unchanged, still saying "to Arnhem Bridge" and so on.

Had no idea that place even existed, I also had no idea that there was "stratmap.txt " in the map folder. I did look for something like that in the MAP but i must have missed it.

Thanks Andrew

I haven't understood. It will be accessible mod GJS or will be accessible tactical GJS maps or it will be accessible strategic GJS map plus tactical maps?
And if that that from this truly that when is accessible?

Release GJS for LSA I hope will cause interest increase to LSA, and also number increase mods for LSA, created by square strategic GJS map. Possibility to move tactical maps in strategic map would be still simplified. It still would simplify creation mods. And from new games of the given series we first of all expected new possibilities as we have seen in LSA, instead of new companies which are pleasant to one, and another aren't present.

I fully agree. GJS (or any other "square" strategic map) is what we are waiting for!
