What do you mean no booze? Has that much changed since Peter's time? His Russian contemporaries wrote the Swedes drank like fish. Even the Russians were impressed....which is saying something.

That (mostly) still applies. That's why we go to Denmark, to keep the liquor tab from getting to large

I had never heard the word "metrosexual", so I had to look it up. Problem is, I still don't get what it implies and if we are supposed to get offended?

Well, you should see the swedes that go across Denmark and travel by boat between R�dby and Puttgarden. I have been on a busstrip with a company that travels Europe and they stop at Puttgarden the last stop and we get a few bags of alcohol. Last time i sat and waited in the buss for the guide and the driver that picked it all up there was this Van. The swedes overloaded it so that the tires looked like they all were out of air. The van almost didnt make it onboard the boat due to the load:)

Another time i saw a few guys in a Volvo. They loaded the trunk full of beer and when they tried to shut it the trunk made a bulge when they finally managed to close it.

Yes, it usually turns up a new horror story every month on how people behave on those trips. Have no personal experience of them though

I find the quote in Empire Total war more fun "I say, those chaps are trying to kill us. Lets go over there and kill THEM"

Empire TW have one thing that makes the game better than the rest: Ability to have naval battles. But somehow the enemy dont like my strategy for the battles, especially if the wind is coming towards me.

The strategy is having my ships like this ------------------------. Always work like clockwork. My ships bombard the poor buggers on the other side and the enemy always retreats

Agree. The naval battles in Empire are stunnigly beautiful. Totally skewed tactics though. The only thing you have to do is to manuever yourself so you have a downwind (!) position, wait for the opposing side to come after you with full sails, shoot away their rigging and masts with chain shot, and then capture the prizes.

Which, of course - as you point out - is the exact opposite of what the tactics were during the age of sail. No decent commander with the weather gauge (i.e., with his ships upwind of the enemy force) would sail directly into the fire of his enemy.

I only wish that Age of Sail 2 had been debugged. That game was stunningly beautiful, but unfortunately it had a couple of devastating bugs which made it unplayable IMO. The original Age of Sail by Talonsoft did a very good job of depicting naval warfare of the time but when AOS2 came out the beauty of that game gave me such hope... alas it was not to be...

Well, strategy in Rome TW is also quite simple when you want to win the civil war. As soon as the senate start beeing afraid of you and send "offers" that you might be better off taking your own life then all you have to do is this. Move your armies to the cities of your roman opponents and then attack them all at once. Worked fine the time i used it.

And tactics in TW is also simple. Dilly willy straight up the middle with infantry and cav for the flanks.

Anyone found Enterprise(CV 6) in the Downfallscenario? I cant find her. I know she was drydocked at the time the scenario started but will not arrive for the course of the entire scenario. Maybe she is on the way to Borgterritory:)
