Arrghhhhh....

My niece is getting married... this is shaping up to be a disaster on sooooo many levels... i can't get into it here, but here's the latest:

HE has decided to get married in a small church... in downtown DC... in August... that has no air conditioning... and a total of THREE parking spaces, with the nearest public parking 7 blocks away at the metro station... with the church holding UP to 30 people (and there are ~100 invited guests so far)...

Well, congrats to her. The other stuff is surmountable.

The "ype" is called the T36 Gun Motor Carriage. It was an attempt to create a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun, by sticking a 40mm Bofors on the chassis of an M3 medium tank. Never got beyond prototype; couldn't get the fire control to work properly.

Thx, I would have stayed up looking for this.

Guam has supported over 250,000 American troops in the past. I think they can manage 8,000.

Yeah, sure. But those 250,000 troops were, like, all spread out. What if they put all the troops at one end of the island this time? Huh?

I hope he was joking ( don't think so ), and if he had been high at least it would be less scary.

And I would like to point out that he is NOT from Tennessee !

Theres definitely something to be said for totalitarianism. At least with that you pretty much have a 50/50 chance of not ending up with a complete idiot. With this democracy thing, and the elections every 2 years, it really throws off the statistics. The way I figure it, there is a 91.7% chance that over 75% of the legislative branch would be complete idiots at any one time.

Your numbers are way off. There's 100% chance that 100% of the legislature are complete arsewipes and are glued to the corporate lobby tit.

Stop, you are depressing me.

Which was my point in post 11938 above. You could have a simple, time rotation method, whereby at certain times of the day or night, military personnel (and civilians if necessary) have to be on certain parts of the island to ensure the load is spread evenly and thus the very real threat of island-tipping-over-syndrome is avoided. This solution will of course involve regular weigh-ins in case people put on too much weight; with all the chaos that could cause . But overall I think it could work. Perhaps I'll write to Hank - see what he thinks.

There you go - sensible policies for a happier Guam!

There was the near disaster in June of '45 when Betty Grable joined the USO group there. The MPs had to form roadblocks all over the island to prevent a rush of troops from upsetting the island's precarious balance.

Dr. Hawass must be pissed.

I wanted to do a rant on mobs and human nature but I think I'll skip it.

Even more incredible is this article by the Daily Mail ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1351251/Number-British-Muslims-double-5-5m-20-years.html  Ignore the scaremongering Muslims are evil undertones etc and take a look at the incredible statistic that they've posted.  First one to work out what I'm on about wins the usual prize, i.e. cock all
