TOAW had had a major update, looks like I've found the game to play between PBEM turns.

I haven't started it yet, but there is an option to use the original graphics.

Hi all,

Grey skies again here...

When I was in bed in fever, of course, the skies were blue and the sun was shining...

Exactly...

Europe 1988/1989 was specific and different because even 50+ years buried democratic traditions did emerge victorious...

It took 100 years or more to bury the old European monarchical order. We shouldn't expect totalitarianism to magically disappear from the Muslim world...or anywhere else.

If the Egyptian military follow in Attaturk's footsteps, Egypt will be in good hands until they have elections. If not, well, they didn't have to deal with Facebook and Twitter in the past.

And those crowds who mobilized against Mubarak can mobilize again. It's the old generals who are the problem. They are indeed of the generation and mold of Sadat and Mubarak; the younger generation of officers were largely trained by the US, and they are of a different mindset.

Those "old generals who are the problem" have enforced peace for well over 30 years and kept Egypt out of the religious jihad business. If they are truly pushed out there is no guarantee that whatever group winds up in power will refrain from killing Egypt's people - and others - in religious wars. A very real danger, unfortunately.

I don't want The Thread to go political, so this is the last comment I will make on this. PM me if you want to.

Which I took as soon as I found it. That, and the pop-up tooltip is just awful. Bad design there.

Watching Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter

Which was part of a Double Feature when it came out.

The other movie : Billy the Kid vs. Dracula !

I kind of miss drive-in movies.

That's traditional unless you've started using a different calendar to the rest of us.
