ORIGINAL: JWE Well, jeez, louize, it's Girl Scout Season. Neighbors came by the other evening and set me down, saying "we know you're not from around here, but you seem ok, so here's your opportunity to fit right in - seems our daughter is a Girl Scout and has some cookies to sell .." and then smile and wait with that expectant expression. "Cool, says I, she must be a regular darling. We have Girl Scouts in Cali, too. We have so many out there, I made a rule that I will only buy one box from anybody, but I will buy one box from everybody who comes to the door." So the neighbors are happy and, sure enough, there's 3 or 4 knocks on the door, and I go to the grocery store this morning and go out the exit and there's this table with mom and three of the cutest little things you will ever see ... "hi sir, do you want to buy some cookies?" Anyway, I got Thin Mint, Peanut Butter, and Shortbread cookies up the wazoo; enough to last until perhaps this time next year. Anybody got any fun recipies that I can use these in. They do get stale after a while and I would hate for them to go to waste. Ciao. John Thinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Minnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnt!!! Put a couple of boxes of this treasure in the freezer.....way in the back behind the bag of frozen peas. Then, in about July, when you are afraid your ears are going to melt off, pull them out and eat them while they are still ice cold!!!!! Pretty funny, we do that too And the following is a Southern thing I am sure, but when the kids were younger we would scoop up handfulls of snow ( it only happens once or twice a year on average ) , put the snow in a baggy, and freeze it. Then at some point in the summer we would pull them out and put it a drink, etc.
