Hello! I must admit I missed this game, never saw it nor do I visit Matrix site as much as I used to long ago. Glad I found it the new game in development looks fantastic. Downloading the demo now for the previous version. Anyway I would like to dispel some of the things I have seen in this thread. I am currently a beta tester for Battlefront's Combat Mission: Beyond Normandy as I was for Combat Mission: Shock Force and all 3 modules as well as lead beta tester and campaign designer for Down In Flames: Eastern Front. Its a hard thing to do as you guys think we sit there and play these wonderful battles and just have a great time. Well as some of you who bought CMSF (release version)can attest, its not always fun in the early versions. Try playing an early Alpha version if you wanna see what frustration is. I am sure the testers here work just as hard as we do over there. That said, there is no doubt that these two games are not only similar but also linked together. We are both chasing the same small market and trying to roughly simulate combat in any form to people who think they can do a better job with no resources or fantastic expectations. Sometimes these people are called grognards, sometimes whiners, fanboi's, disgruntled, unrealistic, smart, enlightened.... etc... The great thing about each and every one of these guys is that even if misguided and rude or entirely polite, the all have the games best interest at heart even if they do not know it. They are also customers and lets face it, in the end in order for Matrix and BFC to even be able to exist does rely entirely upon them. Now for Matrix to be able to even start this they had to have known that there would be comparisons to CMBO, BB, AK, and even BN. Hell, thats even good for them that these came before for the simple fact that the weakness' of the former helps to improve the latter. And the weakness in CMBN or Ostfront one day will be dealt with by another game. Thats kinda what progress does, even in this arena. Now I cannot state official BFC policy but I am willing to bet they want your games to succeed just as much as they want theirs to sell a billion copies. Theres enough room for more than even two companies to co-exist and at the cost of less than a steak at a steakhouse where I live, most can afford to buy products that are good for years of enjoyment. I know I will be buying this game because even before being a tester or a fanboi I was a wargamer. If that means I get 2 options instead of one, how can that be bad? As for sometimes us beta guys being a little testy.... well we are humans and we believe in our product because we really also want the same thing, a great game. -Ray
