My current opponent has an eagle eye for things that aren't covered in the manual or Read Me files

1/ U-boat sinkings apparently not getting reported to the Kaiserliche Marine. The RN gets to see them - but it seems the cables aren't getting through to Wilhelmschaven, and they have to surmise their boats are sunk when they don't arrive home.

2/ Stacking limit at Gallipoli - the manual has a stacking limit for "Straights", but not one for deserts. There are no hexes labelled "straights" on the map - but Gallipoli has the stacking limit for a straight despite being labelled a town. The stacking limit for desert is 10.

Please feel free to add any others, or corrections to the above.

"Undocumented feature", "bug",......you say tomato & I say tomato....;)

3/ Konigsberg & Danzig are not ports - so if they get isolated Germany can't amphib in or out of them, or supply them.

Konigsberg is not a port, which it should be, but Danzig is. My troops that took Riga and Petrograd in the last game came from Danzig.

Hmm...I'm pretty sure I lost Danzig once when it was isolated and transports on supply in the Baltic made no difference :/

When I play TE against you, be sure to put a supply ship in the Baltic to keep East Prussia alive for a little while. It will work to keep you alive but not for supplying any of your troops heading for my ports. Even Narva.

I have hotseated the naval actions and, sad to say, I usually don't get reports about my subs being sunk. I think, but am not sure, that I do get reports if they hit enemy ships, but otherwise they just go down without so much as a distress call. What a PITA it is to test stuff like that!

I don't recall reading in the manual or the Read Me file that, should the Turks take the Suez Canal in 9/14, that British corps in India is stranded. When the Ottomans move on and take Cairo and Alexandria, which could happen, new non-British units, such as the South Africans, Palestinians, Aussies and the 2nd Indian corps, show up in England. Saves Britain a lot on transportation costs at the expense of four raw materials that it really does not need.

As mentioned elsewhere, ships do not protect their home ports if they have been sent on a mission. So the Austrians can lose Trieste easily if they sail and fail to at least contest the Eastern Med. Ditto the Russians with Petrograd in the Baltic.

After a lot of testing, it appears that the protection fleets provide to the home port when they don't sail does not include damaged squadrons. My most recent test had the Russians send out its PD in the Baltic and it took only four hits from the German fleet and went home. I waited for the next turn to be sure it was back in Petrograd and, sure enough, I (as CP) could amphib the city even though it had the entire Baltic fleet sitting there with only one slightly damaged ship.

Since AI plays by different rules then we do, it is hard to tell, but it appears that if you take out ALL a country's ports that its fleets get scuttled (i.e., for Austria, take Trieste and you no longer have to worry about their fleet -- tougher for Russia, since you have to take out Riga, Narva and Petrograd and if they don't sail it is a long and difficult march to take Pgrad by land).

I've seen the Austrian fleet relocate to Smyrna when Trieste was taken.

I've also seen a RN CA remain located in Alexandria when that was taken by the Turks! and all the other ships relocated to India.  Ships in India can't rebase if Cairo & Alexandria are in CP hands.
