So isn't it in the middle of the night (like 2 or 3 AM) on "That funny little island under the clouds"?

Not quite. It's 1208.

So late to bed then?

1208? Late to bed? It's just past noon...

Sounds like the perfect time to go to bed.

Any signs of spring there in Daneland, T?

Yes. It's still a bit cold, but it's definitely coming.

+8C, cloudy, strong winds. Had some very nice early spring days in France. Shirt warmth every evening.

Hi all,

Libyan cease fire called.  This time they really, really mean it.  Honestly, no crossed fingers or take-backs.

Yep...

Leo "Apollo11"

P.S.
BTW, one tidbit... earlier this evening I was watching "Sky News HD" and they were reporting from Tripoli. They saw some AAA firing randomly into the sky (tracers over night sky) and concluded that Libya still has strong Air Defense system in place... oh my... who pays those reporters / commentators....

Civilians.

They have a different opinion of strong defences and heavy combat. I daresay that those of you out there with infantry training have a different opinion to mine of those things as well.

Well, if somebody is pointed a twin-barrel 23mm anti-aircraft gun at me, then I'd call that a pretty strong opponent...

Bah. Any calibre less than 40mm is for wimps.

ETA: I started my career in the Army Air Defense. Hence I've had a long love affair with ms. Bofors

I USED to like you Per!

If man was meant to fly, god would've given him wings. Therefore, it's the duty of all Air Defensemen to correct this aberration

Yeah, thats how it starts. You start cranking it with a hand and then nature takes its course.

We had all kinds of stuff to play with. Coarse/fine synchro chains connected to a 4.5in Mk5 gun turret, dropped and replaved a breech block on 4.5 Mk6, paralleling generators (even did that on the Galatea at the tender age of 18). Oh yeah, Seacat directors too.

Yes, you must now throw salt over your shoulder and dance on your enemies graves by moonlight at the next full moon lest the curse fall on you.

If man was meant to fly then God would indeed have given him wings, however aircraft technicians provide this very service every day.
