Oooh, now you're talking, I could be talked into this.

Have a look here:

http://www.limeyyankgames.co.uk/

I've poked about there a bit, Simon. Grabbed the 3R set and a couple of others, but haven't yet spent the time to figure the mechanics of getting it all to work, and what the process is to use it for PBEM, etc.

It was on in the break room here, and I saw a woman with a hat that was almost 3 feet wide and standing almost straight up from the side of her head. One stiff breeze, and BAM!

Now I just have to talk USS into playing twice a month and we could get on with it.

Hmmm...I've been poking around just a little bit with Cyberboard recently. Do you have any experience using it or VASSAL? If you know what your doing with one of those tools, I could probably be talked into a PBEM/IM game of 3rd Reich. At least I would only have to relearn that one, instead of completely learning EiA from scratch. I have the 3rd edition of 3R rules in a box with most of the counters, up in the attic.

I have Aide de Camp, but haven't used either of the others. They all work pretty similarly.

*raises hand*

it's April 1807...i'm spain...still have my navy...no alliances...stay neutral or side with the evil empire to start getting some VP's, but risk losing my fleet to Nelson

(i hope you aren't in my game!!! )

I'm not.

I've played 2 multiplayer games in EiA, one of them as Spain. I've never played pbem in EiA. I managed to stay neutral as Spain in my multiplayer game and was able to obtain Portugal, Morrocco and Algeria w/ England's agreement. Unfortunately, once France was able to get Austria and Prussian on the rotation, you can guess who was next.

If your situation is similar the one I had you might as well preempt the Yankees, er France, by joining them sooner rather than later. Prepare your port defenses as much as you can. Leave a corp or two w/i marching range of your main fleet base (I used Cadiz, iirc that's the 2 point fortress). You can also leave one or two one-factor corps in the Cadiz area to keep him guessing. Those positions can also be reversed. A problem w/ concentrating in Cadiz is that England will usually put Nelson in the blockading fleet. Your fleet is the only reason that you're important to France or England. Once its gone you're just a source of vps. If you decide to go to the dark side wait until after 07's gold shipment comes due (September?).

If Austria and Prussia are still occupying France's attention, I'd keep neutral as long as possible while trying to negotiate a slice of N. Africa from England and Turkey and maybe another neutral in Italy w/ the agreement of France and AH. Once Austria and Prussia are on the rotation you don't have much leverage left w/ France unless he's interested in invading England.

Great game. Hope you're enjoying it.

good advice...my fleet is in Cadiz, with 15 factors in the garrison and my entire army outside the city...i have Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia as free states...currently building up the cav in their corps, but money is short...i think i'll stay neutral for a while longer...Austria and Prussia seem to be comitted to not allowing the rotation, so maybe there's a France back door opportunity coming up and maybe grab some Italy minors...

Heading home after a long day tithe. Think I'll meet Mrs. Chickenboy at the local watering hole, throw back a beer or two, let her beat the stuffing out of me in trivia and call it a night...

We recently went to the French Quarter in New Orleans - my wife was amused by this sign which she called "Truth in Advertising".

BTW, this place is just around the corner from the "Dixie's Divas" strip club (i posted a pic of this a couple of years ago)... apparently Dixie runs this place to supplement his RAF income...
