Hi all,

For the moment, I'm just sprucing up my resumé and generally looking around. Today is the release of L.A. Noire and there's a three-day weekend, so that's my immediate future right there...

Kristian, how many games you own and how many of those you play regularly?

Just curious BTW (I think I have just about 20+ tactical / strategic / simulations in about 20 years)...

Leo "Apollo11"

Too many and not enough, Leo...

OK!

BTW, please post your LA Noire experiences!

Long ago I had and played 1st (i.e. original) Mafia and liked it a lot (never got Mafia II)... it was the only such game I had...

That's a beautiful cat, Des. Didn't anyone tell you that poking cats is hazardous to your health (and your furniture)?

These finals-in which Finland beat Sweden for the "World" Championship...

Happy with 2nd place
Earning the silver medal was the young Sweden squad. Even though they wished to go home with the gold, they should be proud with silver as they had a young and very inexperienced line-up. With many veteran Swedish star hockey players choosing to bypass the tournament this year, Sweden took this tournament as an opportunity to test out some young and up-and-coming Swedish players. The new Swedish sensation is goalie Viktor Fasth who was named the tournament’s best goalie and tourney MVP, and St. Louis Blues forward Patrik Berglund who had a breakout tournament with eight goals and ten points.

Ok guys, time for a little question for you to answer or guess upon.

I had a day off today, so I went for a little sightseeing trip to an old mansion just outside Stockholm. You can see part of the mansion in the background of the picture below.

The question is - do you know or would like to guess what the tower structure seen on the right in the picture is?

Picture taken with my Desire

Oh yes I am. With the team we had I would've been satisfied just passing through the quarter-finals. Going to the final was a great achievement. Finland played really well in the finals also so there's nothing to feel bitter about. The best team won.

Hmm ... I actually thought they were the same. Using google translate to verify says it's not. It translates the Swedish word for the structure as a "dovecot" ...

Simon, you're even "correcter" than CB. I think.

ETA: "correcter" feels like a word from "The worlds worst AAR (tm)"

I thought there were too many finals for you to keep track of anyways? How is it that you have feelings about a final if you were only scarcely aware of its existence?

I was vascillating between calling it a columbier, columbarium, dovecote, pigeonnier or doocot. I figured I'd pick the most recognizeable term this side of the pond.

1/ I follow many sports. I'm also trying to catch up on all of them after my exercise period, including watching replays of the Swedish basketball league finals and the Swedish floorball finals. Hence my confusion when you talked about the final "this week". The hockey final (that was played one week ago) had already passed from my mental radar.
2/ I actually saw the last two periods of the hockey final. Nothing else of the rest of the tournament as that was played when I was away. Of course I had hopes that Sweden would win, but I seriously believe they did a good job of just getting there.
