Fair enough. Just an old brain trying to sort things out. I wonder why it keeps insisting it read there was a native Falklands population....no matter. I've long been to the point of caring nothing for politics or world matters and keeping my perspective down on the individual level, where I can do some good, no matter what context it may occur in.

I'll leave what happens in the big picture to God and serve my fellow man, whoever he may be at the time.

Smart idea... interplanetary politics is a quite tricky matter. Best to leave it alone...

Very true, but you know what that old firebrand Neville "Attila" Chamberlain was like. Just itching to get into a fight

Either way, Dixie's prediction the other day has come to pass. I just got a War Event demanding that fourteen U-Boats be deployed to the North and Norwegian Seas because those nasty Tommies are coming to invade Norway. Fourteen boats is, COINCIDENTALLY, what I have on patrol. So now they can sit on their collective butts for a week...

Thank you, Adolf!

Imagine how angry you'll be if any get sunk...

I had an event that meant the government ordered the USN to only target IJN task forces

Sort of... There are torpedo attack roll modifiers from -1 to +2, and you start out with -1. You can spend political influence and prestige to improve them.

-1?!?! To start with? You've got it easy young fella-me-lad. You've also sunk a few major warships, I'm just about to end 1942 in Silent War, the chance of sinking any of their big ships is poor even with a Gato boat

Good morning friends.

Back in La Suéde. I see you have managed to provide some world changing material for me to catch up upon. Or, to put it more correctly, 28 pages of drivel for me to sift through . I trust content level is low as always

Off to France tomorrow morning for a tactics/operations exercise with history as background. Will be off-THREAD until next Saturday.

Be well, and good night friends

Would like to borrow my AH 'France 1940'?

That might have been nice. We managed to sort it out anyway though.

Ah - one of my greatest triumphs was with this game - pretty much crushing the German army with the French... i would have completely annihilated one half of the German Army except my opponents convinced me that the move that would have encircled the German Army was illegal... i found out the next day it WAS legal.

Heh, you've played board games with Helmut?

The French were definately capable of moving forward. They , like the BEF , were doing just that, when they were "Taken in the rear!"

Ok, so we got the vet report back on Beaudy. He's not quite the mess we originally thought, but he's still a bit of a mess. Back left leg is atrophied, and has a cartilage pop on flexion. Not unexpected, and he's still pretty happy about his butt. Vet can fix that, and make him comfy.

Sent his bladder stones off to U. of Minnesota for assay. Results, folded in to his blood work, will tell the whole tale, and say what we should keep our eyes peeled for. Once we get those results back, it's diet definition time; the Hills vets are intensely interested in what's up with Beaudy. They want him as a poster child for dietary mediation. I like them. They are worried about the dog, not their CVs or what they can hustle.

Anyhoo, Beaudy has the absolute best of care (from our vet, Ann Rankin) and some serious corporate sponsorship, so my little pup ought to get righteous pretty darn quick. Will report, if ya'll care.

Ciao. John

Thanks for the update John.

Give hime a woof and some scratching around the ears from me, will you?

Nice collection Grollub - but there is one inexplicable omission

Where is the best war game ever, in the history of war games; where is World In Flames man??

A friends of mine owns it - we used to play with his copy. Can't own them all

Well I care! Consider me subscribed to Beaudy's progress. One of my cats was on a Hills diet for kidneys, I believe it gave that cat a much longer and better quality life then it otherwise would have had. I guess I got lucky that they cat liked the stuff more than his buddies regular strength food. The vet had mentioned that some cats don't take to kidney food well.

Cool 'went. Like it. Not really a cat guy, but understand there's lots who are. Am so very glad you and your cat got lucky. I really think the Hills people have their heads screwed on right. The only thing they ever talk to me about is quality of life. This ain't no commercial. But they have their poop together. For your cat and my dog. Very glad you got lucky, bro. There's not a lot of us that do.

You still got that piece of work, clawed witch, hanging off your shirt front? Just asking. I mean Beaudy drools on every pair of white pants I put on, so why shouldn't your cat shred your white shirts? You know, just to say howdy pardner.

Ciao. John

He passed on, in my arms, at a very respectable seventeen years. His ashes are in a nicely stained pine box on a shelf with many of the games he loved to destroy by pouncing on. My wife and I have since rescued two adult cats from our local Dumb Friends League. Here is a pic of my old friend in his favorite bed.

-John P.

My condolences TGW.

Samantha was a wild cat we took in when I was around 10. She was pregnant and had a litter of four in our house. She disappeared one day as I recall. I've never let my cats be indoor/outdoor again.

Serena, Samantha's daughter, used to ride around on my shoulder. She was a beautiful calico who couldn't purr because of a neck injury sustained as a kitten.

Aruba was a wild cat given to my by my sister-in-law because she couldn't handle her. We had to give her up when we moved unfortunately. She became a very affectionate and playful creature.

Worf was a huge black tom who was the sweetest and dumbest cat I've ever had. Buried in our backyard.

Fox was another wild one we picked up. Strong as a ox and a real beast to get to the vet. But also a sucker for a good ear scratch.

Mim (The Marvelous Mad Madam Mim) is our current girl. She still greets me at the door when I get home. Getting a bit testy in her old age.

Dmitri is our rescue cat. Took almost a year and a half for him to trust us. Now he's the cuddliest old boy imaginable. And big...he's part Maine coon.

Beautiful cats, Mynok.

Ok, ok. You don't have it posted on your profile. Which day in June is your birthday?

Why, funny you should ask, Mike. That would be today.

Happy Birthday Andre! Hope it was a good one!
