Yep, its going to be rainy over here to. Should have forecast that one, after all its my children's school fete today . Turned really cold last night too - what's that all about?

Cold here too, but then it is winter... Raining in the valleys, and snowing on the tops. but not sure as we can't see the tops, because of the mist.

Sort of... There are torpedo attack roll modifiers from -1 to +2, and you start out with -1. You can spend political influence and prestige to improve them.

-1?!?! To start with? You've got it easy young fella-me-lad. You've also sunk a few major warships, I'm just about to end 1942 in Silent War, the chance of sinking any of their big ships is poor even with a Gato boat

So I guess I shouldn't mention that I can't actually lose the game for not meeting tonnage targets?

Is there a win/lose situation then apart from final victory? Those tonnage checks can be tough, especially trying to sink 90k in 11 weeks, so perhaps that's why there aren't targets.

Just lost Perch in the Molucca Strait when she was sent on a mining operation So far that makes 11 boats lost, 3 scuttled in Manila and 1 CTL up to the end of 1942.

You can win by something called "England imperiled", which is a period from the summer of 1940 to just before Barbarossa, where if you sink enough tonnage, you can cause England to make a separate peace.

By not getting enough victory points. There's a chart covering the whole game period, broken up into months, where you can check the number of ships and amount of tonnage sunk in the past month and earn up to five VP's in each category. At the end of the game, the VP's are totaled and you check your victory level.

I'm not doing very well, as we close on the end of 12/39.

Good morning friends.

Back in La Suéde. I see you have managed to provide some world changing material for me to catch up upon. Or, to put it more correctly, 28 pages of drivel for me to sift through . I trust content level is low as always

We won't disappoint! Welcome back home, Viking dude!

Off to France tomorrow morning for a tactics/operations exercise with history as background. Will be off-THREAD until next Saturday.

Be well, and good night friends

Would like to borrow my AH 'France 1940'?

Ah - one of my greatest triumphs was with this game - pretty much crushing the German army with the French... i would have completely annihilated one half of the German Army except my opponents convinced me that the move that would have encircled the German Army was illegal... i found out the next day it WAS legal.

Heh, you've played board games with Helmut?

Dang, back home for 2 posts and you already have me laughing out loud!
