Very very nice indeed... I didn't think this would be so "polished"... quite impressed BTW...
Yep. The module is an exact copy of the boardgame, all the way from top to bottom.
Kristian, how is Allied countermeasures like HF/DF, Enigma and radar dealt with in game?
Can you do anything about it to counter those Allied techniques that essentially and finally killed the U-Boot menace in spring of 1943?

Huff/Duff comes along in War Period 2 (about summer of 1940) and makes it more difficult to assemble Wolfpacks. If you mess up the dice roll enough, the U-Boat calling in other boats can be attacked and sunk because of it. Sounds very realistic to me.
Enigma starts "decaying" (it's a dice roll modifier in the game) and loses effectiveness. You can make a political request to upgrade it from 3- to 4-rotor Enigma which restores it's effectiveness a bit.
Radar is folded into the advance of the game, in as much as it becomes more difficult for U-Boats to move about as the game goes on, and enemy escorts and aircraft become deadlier.
The game ends at the end of the fourth week of April 1943, so there's nothing beyond that.
Pity. IIRC May 1943 was a very black month for the Kriegsmarine underseebooten. I wonder if the exclusion of anything after April was an allusion to there just being nothing but "the void" for submariners to look forward to.
Well, the game is called "Vol. 1", so maybe there's thoughts of a second box. Not much fun as a solitaire game, I would suspect.

Thanks for info Kristian!
So... the game ends just before the "Black May" (1943 when U-Boots were decisively defeated and when the "Battle of Atlantic" was lost for Germany)...
The 4 rotor Enigma (aka Triton code) was good for Kriegsmarine because Bletchley Park didn't break into it until December 1942 - it was the last "happy period" for U-Boots!
BTW, is game dealing with cryptographic success of the Allies in a way that convoys were diverted from danger (as much as possible) when wolf pack threat was discovered via HF/DF and decrypting?
Leo "Apollo11"
Huff/Duff only works against the specific U-Boat that's shadowing. Cryptography is rolled into spotting chances for the boats; i.e. as German intelligence and code machines get worse, it gets harder for the boats to spot targets and guide in others.
Slackers. CDC has had anti-zombie recommendations in place for several months now.
It's too late... Congress is infested with zombies.
Has been for decades... You don't think Ted Stevens or Strom Thurmond actually LIVED that long, do you? Or that any living, breathing human being can be as orange as John Boener?

Well done young Mr McIllroy - time for bed now
He's been fantastic so far, and what a great show of mental toughness to bounce back from The Masters final day collapse so well! The kid is so damned likable, too!

Once again, I have proven to myself that I apparently know absolutely nothing about the game of hockey or about observing goaltenders, despite being the father of one for the last 5 years. Alex played his butt off again this weekend, but alas, will be relegated to playing in a local house league. I'm very proud of him!

Possibly not, but that's what you get for being the baddies!
I guess that vol.2 could feature different mechanics, thus making April 1943 a logical place to pause.

Couldn't resist any longer and, well, it is Father's Day, so I have treated myself to the British Pacific Fleet book . Shouldn't have really as my book spending has been a little excessive of late, but, as I keep telling the girlfriend, I'm worth it.....
