Oh yes! That was a quality album and brings back some great memories . Martin Fry - what a vocal range that guy had . The Look of Love is a mini classic, and 4 ever 2 gether is probably no.2 on the album.

ABC always reminded me of Keren Woodward. I was in love with her back in '83 (and always will be) and got to party with them at KROQ whenever she came to Pasadena. How acutely I miss those days!

I'm going to make a comment that some of our readers might take as a slap at the topic in question.

I honestly don't intend it that way, as I've actually acquired some of the tunes that the thread devotees have made reference to, hereabouts.

So, thanks to everyone for sharing your favorites, music-wise!

Anyway, let me phrase my comment in the way of a question, rather than a statement...

Does anyone find it odd that so many forum regulars focus their interest on music, rather than military history?

I ask because it seems at least mildly discordant with the nature of the forum, given the degree to which history/military scholarship would appear to influence our hobby.

Prince of Eckmuhl I do not take your question as a "slap", rather I find it a little strange. How can you deduce from this thread the amount of focus an individual places on music, and whether that focus is instead of military history?

One of the most popular threads at the moment is ilovestrategy's "tea thread". What has that got to do with military history? Nothing, but it doesn't stop it from being an amusing aside to the main topic; i.e. gaming and military history.

Well, I certainly can't quantify anyone's interest, one way or the other. But, I'd note that the topic in question "turned four" on September 8. And it's something on the order of fifty pages long. Clearly, some of our members have found the subject matter compelling enough to make many, many posts to the thread. Conversely, I don't see any fifty page threads devoted to military history. No big deal, really. I just find it, well, kind of ironic.

Actually, I prefer tea over coffee.
May ilovestrategy's topic live long and prosper.

Well I love the military history aspect of this forum. I try and contribute (when I think I have something to say!!) to the questions posed from time to time (by Footslogger in particular on the WITPAE and WITE forums). But I think the reason that the music thread is so long compared to individual questions re WWII is surely that music is a constantly moving feast.

Anyway, glad you like tea over coffee - good man PoE

Shocking. Absolutely shocking. People posting music in a thread called “What music are you listening to now?”

I don't think it is odd that some of our forum regulars like music. I think that it is odd that you are apparently monitoring their posts and attacking them for exercising their right to free expression.

Back to the music.
