I wish Pax would show us the rest of his avatar so I could make an informed choice on shrubbery.

Shrubbery still needs to be pruned once in a while or it will become overgrown and take over the entire yard.

I regret that I must sadly report myself. I actually allowed a vacation to interfere with AE. Here's what happened.

Thursday, I was leaving town at about noon for a camping trip. I dutifully did my turn early that morning, at the office, and was ready to send it. Just before I left, I sent it to Chez...or so I thought.

When I returned from the camping trip, I was surprised there wasn't a turn from Chez in the in-box. When I checked to make sure I had sent him the turn Thursday, I was dismayed to find that I hadn't. Then, when I came to the office this morning, I discovered that not only hadn't I sent the turn, I still had it open on the work computer and hadn't even clicked the "end turn" button.

What was I thinking? I am ashamed....

GreyJoy's Post 2719 in his AAR is full of typical GreyJoyisms" (emphasis added by me for the convenience of the reader):

"Unfortunately my GF, who stayed home for the whole summer studying like a dog for his final "wanna-become-a-lawyer" exams - bicthing and "voodoing" me relaxing and partying on the beach - passed and got promoted and so i have to manitain my promise and have to take her to Zanzibar (Tanzania-Africa)...don't say i'm not happy about that (that pic shows the restaurant of our hotel) but first this damned week will cost me a treasure, and second it's a kind of mess to leave the office for a whole week in october....
last but not least i hate the idea of slowing down my PBEM

So...i'll drink cool cocktails on the beach, get sunbathing, eat fresh and juicy fruits, relax and get the usual african-diarrhea

The key to this report is whether coworkers or legal aides happened by said computer to note what the esteemed Canoerebel was doing in lieu of billable hours. The witness has carefully omitted this important information from his so-called self report. I believe this may be a weak attempt to divert the court's attention from the true magnitude of the disaster by admitting only to the smallest part of the violation.

I am proud to say that I officially resigned from the legal world in March of this year, going inactive with our state bar association. This allows me to focus all my effort and time in publishing Georgia Backroads magazine, for which I labor twice as hard and make half as much. :)

Since I'm the boss at said magazine, anyone is welcome to see my computer, but they had better not say anything about how I use my time (but don't tell my wife that...).

This does hint at an explaination about GreyJoy's fetish for natural (that is naturally harry) significant others. If his GF were really a BF, Italian, and not into manscaping....

So true. But how does one convey to someone who did not grow up reading, writing and speaking english why that is so?

GreyJoy, sorry, I may have inadvertently signalled you that I found something humorously and subtley erotic in your "juicy fruits" comment. That wasn't it at all - I just liked the way you phrased it when read as it is literally written. There's nothing erotic or "double entendre" in my comments or in what you wrote.

And right well you should be too!

Actually it worked out great for me. It was a very welcome break from all the built up stress at work of late. And I dare say I did enjoy not having to worry about having a turn in the box or not. I did a lot of winter prep work in the yard and just lounged the rest of the time. I definitely enjoyed watching the second half of the Atlanta-Seattle football game... we almost pulled it out.

Break's over! Now that the weekend is gone, I'm looking forward to getting my butt kicked again.

Chez

I can remember MANY a time Sir when we cranked out FIVE turns in a day and you were 'seemingly' at work!

I have no willpower. If my opponent sends me one turn a week, I play one turn a week. If he sends me one a day, I play one a day. If he sends twelve a day, I play twelve a day. I can't control myself! The best way I've found to help myself remain sane at work and at home is to allow myself to play just one game at a time, and then to hope I have an opponent who has more willpowere - or a tighter schedule - than I do.

If I were to take on John III, Miller and Q-Ball (assuming he was interested in AE again) at the same time, I would be playing 27 turns a day. My wife would shoot me, but not until I had lost my job, alienated my children, and found myself living in a tent using a laptop powered by a generator that had only one day's supply of fuel remaining. I would be one sad little cookie.

Lesson: Stay away from John III, Miller, and Q-Ball if you wish to maintain any quality of life.
