ORIGINAL: Treetop64 While we're on that, I was wondering about the effects of changing Realism Options and Game Options mid-campaign while playing as Allied against the AI. for Instance, if I start at Historical difficulty, then later switch to Hard or Very Hard, will that "confuse" the game at all or does it merely introduce new multipliers when the computer is rolling die and crunching numbers? I'm paranoid about changing anything in the two groups of options and don't touch them once a game has started, not to mention "patching"... It does not confuse AI. HARD = AI gets logistic bonuses, VERY HARD = AI gets both logictics and combat bonuses. I don't myself use anything but Historical, since on HARD or VERY HARD, it can become inmpossible to encircle and starve garrisons. IIRC, on VH, AI does not suffer any supply shortages even when cut off. This will make use of historical strategies and tactics impossible.
