OK Grasshopper...
To be honest i may have been abit young for it to grab my attention, I think it was on during the time of Tom Baker as Dr Who and the Hulk etc, those Start sky and Hutch and the professionals are the programmes I remember well from the late 70's very early eighties. Oh and Wonderwoman my sister loved it. Blimey just rememberd Spiderman aswell was on back then as a series.

Dr Who with Tom Baker was absolutely superb indeed. I have all the episodes somewhere and all the Kung Fu series as well. Glory be!

Never try and watch Waterloo with a miniatures guy in the room. Otherwise, you won't be able to listen to the movie for him detailing the inaccuracies in the uniforms!

http://redlettermedia.com/ The new Indiana Jones by Mr. Plinkett. If you don't know who he is make sure to watch his Star Wars prequels reviews - they are very insightful.

Based on the book Killer Angels, This was my favorite movie before but the Directors cut improves it. About 17 minutes added to the theatrical version that helps filll in more about some of the events/decisions (not additional battle scenes).
If you like the civil war period or Killer Angels and/or just war movies, worth your time to see.

Saving Private Ryan. The True Story. (Discovery Channel).
Very interesting program re the true story of the Niland brothers and the comparison with the Ryan brothers from the Spielberg film (happily two of the four brothers survived in real life - the airman brother shot down over Burma (south Pacific in the film) was captured by the Japanese and escaped when the Japanese retreated).
Also looks at the accuracy of some of the films scenes. The boats used to land the troops were inaccurate - it was British crewed LCA's used at Omaha. The chances of receiving a fatal shot underwater was practically nil. The sniper shot from the range in the film 450 metres was impossible (travelling through the other sniper's sight and into his eye) due to the way a bullet travels over such a distance.
Interesting stuff.

I just watched a documentary about The Killing Fields called "Pol Pot's Executioner: Welcome to Hell". A lot of original pictures and interviews. Seeing pictures and testimony about this... I am, for once, out of words. I truly do not know how to express my feelings after this documentary. Pictures of babies clubbed to death. Movies taken by the Vietnamese when they entered The Killing Fields. Maggots everywhere. Birds eating. Interviews with survivors that had their entire family killed. Their babies...
I should not watch such documentaries but on the same time I feel I must. We need to remember.

I am watching sky sports news.
Pop Quiz:
Who is the most boring man on the planet, is it
Kimi Raikkonen Mika Hakkinen
Seriously, those two Finns have to be the most sleep inducing gentlemen ever to have walked the planet. How is it possible for someone with so dynamic a profession to be so mind-crushingly Dull?

I've just been watching the new BBC series Bullets, Boots and Bandages - which looks at the importance of logistics throughout military history. It is currently on iPlayer for UK residents: on the web here.
