Well, it's day 4 of my new job. Getting used to civilian government. I thought the military was inefficient. My core hours are 0900-1500. Other than that, I set my schedule. I work 0630-1500. Miss traffic both ways. On Monday, my boss showed me to my cubicle. Nothing at all in it, not even a chair! They scrounged me a chair and requested a computer and phone from the government. The goal is to get it in 2 weeks. A couple of guys who sit near me said it took them 3 months. I spend a lot of time looking over their shoulders asking questions but my boss still hasn't decided what I'm going to do. I guess he has time to decide. When I'm not looking over someone's shoulder, I spend a lot of time plotting my next turn, on paper of course.

Off to work!

Ipad?

Home from work... Diving into turns... Happy time!

No turns here. Although I did get a coworker interested in the game. Looking forward to another PBEM once he's had some time with the learning cliff.

Sounds like you need either a second job, or a very amicable divorce.

Since all you should be doing is playing WITP:AE you don't need anything more than that 1%

Hi all,

We here are paid every month (for all working days in a moth) and not every week (for all working days in a week)... I think the same thing is almost everywhere in Europe...

Interesting.. I know of a few places here that are monthly.. not sure if all of the USA or Kansas, but my wife was paid monthly when she was a school teacher..

I suspect hourly employees in the US are most commonly paid weekly, while salaried workers are mostly paid every 2 weeks, or twice/month. Once/month is pretty rare here.

Early in my career I was paid once a month. After that it was bi-weekly. I kinda liked once a month. Paid all bills at once and then I could plan on what I had left for the months recreation. The next firm I forgot it was bi-weekly and did the usual pay all bills at once. I was one broke hobo until the next pay period.

My wife is once a month, she is a teacher. I am every two weeks, which makes for interesting budgeting.

It's the norm. My GF has a simple philosophy on shopping: if it's cheap or on sale, you are obliged to purchase it. Doesn't matter if you need it or not. Thing is, most of the things she buys she takes back the next day. This is once or twice every week. Drives me nuts...

As a guy, however, I also have a simple philosophy on shopping: Get in, get it, and get the hell out.

Why would that be a problem?

We here are paid once a month (as I already write) and we live our lives and pay our bills...

I had a girlfriend who called that "commando shopping".
