@Historiker: "Bin zwar Deutscher, gebe aber mal trotzdem meinen Senf dazu." ... Found this topic quite interesting and besides those stereotypes already mentioned, I found another rather funny/ironic clip on Youtube. Tom Hanks talks on German Autobahn One stereotype after another, containing many 'errors' (false assumptions). Could be seen as the modern version of stereotypes on Germany/Germans (besides those resulting from history). There are also some other interesting clips on other topics already mentioned: 'Have no humor' stereotype -> I learned that Michael Mittermayer made a trip to the U.S. and Canada, which is also quite interesting (search Mittermayer and Montreal/New York on Youtube). The Nazi topic also spawned a relative popular internet meme, one incarnation also posted here by someone, the so-called Hitler-Rant or sometimes Hitler/Fegelein-Rant by using various scenes from the movie 'Downfall'. Literally hundreds of them can be found on Youtube. In my opinion (or my perception) the Youtube clip posted earlier, where students talked about their perception of Germans/Germany before and after they took a class in German language gives a good impression how younger people may see Germans without further information. I even think this can generalized for any country-to-country and peoples-to-peoples relation, on average you will always hear those topics first which where/are recognized most. From a statistics viewpoint, asking about stereotypes about Germans in a wargame forum may not give a valid sample......ok, this was a teaser, no guys and gals, you are not warmongers...just translate my forum nickname ;)
