Vs other planes, the zero's characteristics and pilot experience are already enough to get 20-1 odds (buffaloes, etc). And, vs good allied planes (P-40, F4F, etc) the zero should fare at about 1-1 odds. (but starting exp will give zero's the advantage)
Can anyone produce a historical fact that back's up the game's Zero bonus? (sorry if I've missed a post that does actually support the zero bonus. I haven't read all 9 pages)
Actually, Mdiehl is VERY selective in the stats he produces. He is even more selective in whom he offers as a supporting opinion. He ignores anyone who doesnt support his positions. That is hardly being objective. In fact it is the definition of bias.
When Mdiehl makes ANY comment about WitP, you need to recall that he does NOT own the game, nor has he ever played it. He also does NOT own Bombing of the Reich or BoB. He has NEVER actually played any of them as a GAME.
He is simply angry with the developers for ignoring his suggestions.
As for the Zero Bonus, they Japs DID manage to overun the SRA rather easily. Something that should matter.
