Hi all, quote:
ORIGINAL: Nikademus Actually i have I was suprised to find several excellent Lithuanian beers when i visited there back in the 2000's. call it Western Hemisphere predjidice, but i just didn't equate a little ex Soviet satilite country to be a source of good beer vs. traditional BEER countries like Ireland, England and of course Deutchland. However I declined to sample the mass stock of 2liter plastic bottles of beer in the Costco warehouse sized and styled outfits popping up all over the place. Lithuanians do love their beer. Only country so far i've visited that had a beer tap installed next to fresh fish section on display in vats of ice. Best beer though was my friend's grandfather's home-made moonshine beer. He kept pouring me little samples of it and making me exchange toasts with him, laughing the entire time as i caught my breath with each belt and gibbering in Lithuanian. That was a memory......what of it i can remember after about the fourth glass. Lithuania was there for long time before the communist 75 years rule came and went... Same is with all other countries in central / eastern Europe! The beer in Europe is traditional drink and I don't think that better beer can be found anywhere else in the world (the commercial beer in USA I will not even comment on)... Leo "Apollo11"
