I see our intrepid mechanic has been at it again. You have some sort of vendetta against engine cowlings, dont you?

Very cool.

What's that there?

Tattershall Castle. As you may be aware, we got tons of history lying about the place, big old castles, and they just get in the way. We're driving-- "Oh, a f****** castle! Have to drive around it..." Disney came over and built Euro Disney, and they built the Disney castle there, and it was, "You better make it a bit bigger, they've actually got them here... And they're not made of plastic!" We got tons of them, 'cause you think we all live in castles, and we do all live in castles! We all got a castle each. We're up to here with f****** castles! We just long for a bungalow or something.

Funny you should mention that. I have officially made part of that Spitfire!

Anyway, think of the eight savings from removing all those cowlings

Just shy of 6'. It's fairly awkward getting in and out in normal clothes, in a heated gunner's suit it would have been a major battle.

On the bright side, it does look like the position has a convenient window to smoke out of without it getting blown back in your face.

When I saw "Japan" was the source , my 1st thought was "That little bastard!". Then I realized it was the country, not Helmut in drag again. (Hadn't had any coffee yet!).

Yes , I supppose "Japanese ENGRISH" would be easier for you repressive redcoat types to understand. UP THE REVOLUTION! DOWN WITH KING GEORGE! STICK YOUR TEA WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE! And a happy 4th of July to all Yanks,Yank want-to-be's, and most of all to our "former oppressors"! How's things "MOM"? Miss us?

And you were lucky enough that Napoleon didn't come over the channel. He destroyed hundreds of castles in Germany so they couldn't be used as fortification...

Only since 1917! Crab Blue didn't come about till you had tour own "revolution" , courtesey of "Boom " Trenchard and a few others. But they and their forefarthers wore Red coats before they swapped over to that weak looking blue.

Pffffft I say. You could just as easily say that we should be wearing navy blue and bell bottom trousers. For unlike many modern air forces we in the RAF are descended from two seperate orgins. Neither one of which I would actually be interested in joining
