I think I'm glad that I dont have the audio on on my work pc....

You don't like Ronnie James Dio?

Never heard of him.

Ever heard of Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven and Hell? All bands he was a member, all sold millions of records.

He also claims to have invented Mano cornuta. \m/

I've heard of Black Sabbath of course but I've never been much of a fan or the genre. Some friends did get me interested in Metallica way back when, but I mostly liked the melodic stuff (Orion, One, that sort of thing). No idea who the rest of these guys are.

Your not alone. I despised Heavy Metal as a kid. Unfortunately if you didn't embrace the mainstream, you were ostracized from cool teenage society. Thats ok. I went to the tune of my own drum (and the music sounded alot better and original too)

Maybe if I hadnt been surrounded by people who were fanatics in the real sense of the term I probably wouldnt have either. Now I think of them a pleasant memory from childhood. Still enjoy the older stuff though, pre Garage Days.

I also never liked Heavy Metal as a kid. I was over 25 when I started to move into that direction... And meanwhile, I've seen Judas Priest live and other bands will follow!

NSFW?

It is Virgin Steele, a Metal band that always works with historic themes. This is called "The Burning of Rome" though it is about Popej (don't ask me how that can be, but propably that's the same for Americans )

It is a great song.

Well, according to the words of she-who-will-not-be-named, you went to the tune of your own garbage cans banging together too...

ETA: Enjoyed some Dio, but more of a fan of other big-hair bands rather than heavy metal. I enjoyed Ratt particularly, but also Motley Crue, Scorpions, Ozzy Ozbourne and eventually, White Zombie.

What is that? Metal trying to mimic rap? It seems about the same amount of musical finesse while the "uh ya baby, I **** you alL" is replaces by a single guitar rif with drums.

Ive played acoustic since I was about 14 or so. In HS that got me into the band room at lunch so I didnt have to deal with either the prissy Palisades kids (sorry CB) or the trench coat mafia or the MS13 crowd. My usual fare in HS was Russian "bard" music (which doesnt require much actual skill to play which is why I never progressed much as a guitarist.

I also like Mötley Crüe (why don't you write it correctly? ). I saw KISS live in Berlin and hope for Iron Maiden.
