I'm still trying to familiarize myself with the mechanics of the game.

But I would now like to know already, how are failures and the limited use of vehicles, aircraft ,personnel and other material simulated during the Russian winter ?
Stalingrad is not the Copacabana!

The game doesn't seem to include breakdowns or attrition of any kind.

I've been fooling around with the editor and trying to learn it. I think that it's very possible to code some type of gradual loss(percentage) of men/vehicles per winter turn, if you think that would be a good solution to simulate the harsh winter. Of course the Germans would suffer a bit more compared to the Soviets. A system like the opposite of auto-reinforce might work.

I know by creating new "events" in the editor different things can be added to fine tune the current game. Ultimately, it's probably going to take someone like Vic to do the coding in the event as it's fairly complicated. The editor manual doesn't expalin much about making new events.

To some extent it is simulated by detrimental effects bad weather has on your supply.

I believe that 1941 was a harsh winter and 1942 was a normal winter. So I don't think that after 1941 the Germans would have forgotten all the lessons they learned the hard way in 1941.

I have also read that the losses that the Russians suffered in winter during WWII were as severe as the Germans. The Russian units that were fully equipped for winter fighting were few and far between. Especially with the material situation on the Russian side in 1942 I do not think they should be penalized less than the Germans.

WitE treats all winters past 41-2 as being normal for both sides, with equal effects across the board. There was nothing special about the 42-3 winter, and Axis failures were due to their dispositions, not the weather.

Thank you! You rock!!! This just goes to show how versatile and powerful this game engine is. Lot's of slick little mods like this can bring this game to another level.

Thanks for your time to show us this!
