Canada geese are increasingly nuisance species in the upper midwest. Some of them have decided that the whole 'migrating thing' isn't their bag and decide to take up residence and reproduce wherever they are.

There are some lakes-fed by power plants or natural springs-that are on their migratory flyways that don't freeze over. These lakes are literally covered over in Canada geese in the winter months. Their copious feces contaminate lakes, rivers and other bodies of water too.

I say there should be no bag limit on 'em. We'd knock the numbers down pretty well within a few years.

But if that plane was flying up here it could have been a mosquito hit.

Hmmm...I may have to look into that...

It is a proposed Canada bag limit. The U.S. Wildlife Service may have something to say about that; since that is who has the final say on the matter.
Now Snow's have a pretty big bag/possession limit. I'm not sure how big though. I'll look it up.
If you're considering making a foray up here, I have some primo waterfowl land. Sometimes flocks of over 3,000. And the further west you go, the bigger the flocks, at times over 20,000 or more. It's pretty cool to watch at sunrise over 100,000 geese take to the air from off the water.

Um hmmm...makes perfect sense:

The Rules of Cricket

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.

Each man that’s in the side that’s in goes out, and when he’s out he comes in and the next man goes in until he’s out.

When they are all out, the side that’s out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.

Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.

There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.

When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!

How can you say that blunt trauma euthanasia methods are humane? Even if the object of the blunt trauma (airplane) is travelling at 500mph, it's still not a recognized means of humane euthanasia. You guys are full of contradictions-the airline should be sued for animal cruelty!!!

500mph with a blunt object of more than 50 tonnes counts as anesthesia and humane killing at once.

Ze German says: Government should issue hunging licences by plane to pilots. Ze German says: Government needs to make gutt regulations! Achtung!

Is it more or less humane mincing them up before passing them through a furnace and firing the remains into the atmosphere at several hundred miles per hour?

Theres a scene in one of the later Aubrey/Maturn books (Nutmeg of Consolation, I think) where Maturin gets roped in to play cricket and does something that could be either awesome or stupid. But because I have no idea what the rules are, I dont know which it is.

There is a well known principal of maritime law (and to a lesser known extent , aviation law) called "the law of gross tonage". Simply stated , it's that a lighter , more manueverable ship, vehicle or aircraft needs to manuever out of the way of the heavier one. By the reckless manner in which these birds "kamikaze" into airplanes (and my car) leads me to belive that they are nothing less than TERRORISTS in their flagrent disregard for international law (besides, have you ever seen one wearing a beacon, or ruuning lights?) and deserve whatever comes their way! As we can't practically exhile them to Guantamano Bay , shooting them, or running them over with airplanes or car windshields IS appropriate! BIRD HUNTERS ARE HEROS! So when you see a bird hunter in the field, take a moment to say "thank you".
