Perhaps Jim didn't know that CL Nagara was off the coast of Derby or maybe this was just a suicide attack. Either way two more
Allied ships were sunk.

I've looked into the reason so few Betty's are flying these raids and found out that the AF dudes where the Betty's are stationed are
only V7 and most of the Betty's are damaged and can't fly. I need to move some more air support onto the air base to fix those grounded
and get some real air power going.

The story is the same just north of Davao: lack of AF support at Davao has grounded most of the Zero's there. I have an emergency
shipment of AF dudes planned for the immediate near future.

Bataan must have some serious AA units there because of all the damage to my raiders. I may have to concentrate on Manila and just
ignore Bataan for now. This campaign is looking like it's going to last until April at least.

My Lilly's insist on softening up the Kendari garrison even though they are effectively out of the fight now. I may have to move the
Lilly's to keep this from happening again.

I've suffered another raid on Hanoi and half my Nates were shot down. I'm standing them down for now. Part of the problem is the AF
dudes there are only V7 and another AF unit is obviously needed.

Here's an attack that hurt. I'm thinking a LOT more softening up is needed. That, and some rest for my troops. Manila is a hard nut
to crack.

I didn't do a bombardment attack myself because of lack of supplies but the Allied bombardment attack had results I would have looked
for. I'm glad Jim is doing these bombardment attacks because I'm thinking it uses up the supplies at Cebu faster.

Jim captured Singkawang from me and destroyed all my Bab's there. That Jim is sneaky. I've got some troops slated to take it back
but they are still several days away.

China:
This theater is not my strong suite. I'm sorta playing it by ear here. I don't have a plan and I'm not following a script and
I don't really know what I'm doing. Jim and I are trading air strikes and the occasional ground bombardment but other than that
it's sort of a back-water area for me.

North Pacific:
I don't have any plans for invasion(s) anywhere up here. I'm thinking it might be cool to do some kind of historical thing and
invade somewhere but I'm thinking that would have to happen after Manila and Singapore are done.

Singapore:
Speaking of Singapore, I'm just concentrating on air strikes while my troops march south. I'm aware that I don't have enough
troops to take Singers but I'm thinking I can transfer some of those guys in Java to the Singers campaign after they are through
with their Java tasks.

Phillipines:
This is the hard nut to crack that I'm working on now. It's a major shipping route obstacle that I need to take down ASAP and it's
not working out really well yet. I've gotten some planes into bases where the AF dudes are rare and more and more planes are down
for maintence as of yet. I'm arranging for more AF dudes but it'll be a week or so before I have everything ship shape and can get
Operation Beat-Down going again.

Port Moresby:
I'm shipping some troops ( the 144th INF Rgt ) to PM even as we speak and hope to have the port sometime within the next two weeks but I don't have any
recent recon to know what is there to hamper my operations and can't make any guess as to how the invasion will go yet. I'm guessing
he's got some kind of sizeable force at PM so it's going to take one of my larger INF forces to take the place and I've done some
area clearing operations so I don't anticipate any Allied ships to get in the way, unless and until Jim runs some forces into the area
that I don't know about.

Wake:
I'm shipping in some more fuel and supplies and have established a sort of make-shift sub base and it's working out well for now. I've
got my picket line of ships out to the east to warn me of any Allied incursion(s) not that I can do much about it. I guess I need to
run some of the KB carriers out to Wake to stabilize the area better.

Home Islands:
Um.....I see that Jim has evacuated the surface forces that were there as of late and I expect that they will be gone by the time my
back-up forces finally arrive. I might have to split off some of the KB carriers to loiter in this area in case Jim comes calling
again.

Oh........you mean it's a static picture and not animated? I'm not sure what causes that but I'm guessing your page needs to be
refreshed or something. Make sure that you have the correct image name as I accidently deleted the first version of it. D'oh.

EDIT: Um.....I'm using the FireFox browser and it's working for me. So if you're using IE4 or later I'm guessing it should work as well.
I've found FireFox to be the better browser of the two and it's free so what could possibly go wrong?

EDIT2: It's not supposed to be opened in MSPaint because it's a series of images and not a single image. You have to open it in
your browser.

Yeah, it just happened to me. I'm seeing a static image and not an animation and I tried to refresh the page and that didn't fix the
problem either. I'm guessing something went wrong on the Matrix Games site with the file or something. D'oh.

Here's the latest Tracker economic chart. I've still got a lot of Oil Centers and Oil Refineries that aren't producing. I need to look into
that and diagnose what's wrong. And fix it.

China intentions are to try to take back some of the cities, every time you capture them, they produce like 1/3rd of what they did before - as well as being damaged. Imagine if I took back Hong Kong - it would be useless as a base for a long time before Larry could use it again.

The longer Singer's holds out I'm taking it as a win. . . Build those Forts!

Same thought process as Singers, The Forts just helped me to give a whippin last turn, I know it wont last forever, but tied up LCU's are a win somewhere else. . .

C'mon down!!! Your the current champion on "Take this Base!". . . LOL - I'm just doing what I can here, Port Moresby is just too close to Australia's bases and too hard to take back.

The scenario you just described above sounds like we will be tangling there in the near future, I have to keep Midway as a base to keep the camel's nose from under my tent. . .

That's exactly what I was hoping for! I figured your SCTF will be at least 1 BB, 2CA and screening DD's from the Home Is., meanwhile your going to commit your CarDiv to the CentPac area. . . Excellent! I figure any time I'm causing you to react to my moves, then some measure of control is on my side. . . You have done an awesome job as the Japanese Empire and this feint is the first time I've gotten you to react defensively to my moves! Still a long way to go but I'll take it!

Actually I didn't intend it to be programmer humor but I can see why you did. Also, the most dangerous thing you can do to a program
is change it.

On a side note, I'm seeing less and less oil and resources to pick up as time passes. I'm guessing I've past ( already ) the point of
diminishing returns in making trips to the sources of those things. Which is scary because the home islands don't have an abundance
of fuel to export anymore. The resource history above shows the story. I've got like 80 days of stored fuel left and after that the ships don't move anymore. D'oh. I'm thinking I'll have to put the fleet on a fuel budget and only make essential trips from now on etc. The
turn around point in this game might come extreamly early strategy-wise.

you are absolutely correct. Thanks for fixing my post.

EDIT: On second thought, lemme explain why I wrote it that way originally. When a programmer is writing a program from scratch for
the first time he/she usually has an idea what it's supposed to do and can plan ahead for which variables do what and what functions
are going to be needed to do what etc. And he/she can usually make a reasonably good first draft. The bugs are typos, for loop
off by one, and usually simple things that go wrong and not usually logic errors.

And then comes the need to change a program, which is sometimes a different programmer than the original author and he/she usually
doesn't have a clue what the program was written for, what it's supposed to originally do, what the variables are, what functions there
are and has to "learn" the program by trial and error.

You can tell from what I've written above how long ago I used to write programs and how much has changed since. Object orientation
came along during my later years and I had to re-learn how to program using the object oriented method, which I'm grateful for
because I learned a lot about variable isolation, "method" evolution, and so on. It was a great trip.

It's Wed. 18:22 pm and I have received Jim's moves and so here's the latest combat results

I had four AK's tasked to deliver some badly needed supplies to my forces on Cebu and half of them got shot up.

One of my subs detected an Allied AS near Johnston Island so I'm guessing Jim is thinking of setting up a sub base there. Or maybe
points west.
