Why do I suddenly have an urge to clean all my guns?

http://www.military.com/video/guns/pistols/very-unhelpful-how-to-video/1304970116001/

ETA: Dixie, you may need to check this out...

I'm sorry. I did not know I had A.D.D. It looks like I'll need some personal instruction.

Well, Schanilec-

I'm not sure if Dixie will dress up like that for you, but you can always ask.

What!...what!...what! That's not Dixie?

Who says it isn't? Well, alright it isn't me. Dixie does not 'do guns' by choice, I joined the RAF to fix aeroplanes not bust a cap in someone's ass (did I use the term correctly? I am unfamiliar with Colonial language). Rest assured that if I ever have to actually clean a gun for real that I do so under duress. Or for enough money in a dress if you chaps feel inclined to donate...

As an aside, I found that video most informative with regards to the cleaning of small arms. Although I neither possess or have access to a Glock one assumes that many of the salient points could be applied to the Browning 9mm (which I do not use) or the L85 rifle.

It's in a similar vein to my most favourite of all flight safety videos, Dr Fod was a veritable masterpiece of televisual artistry with an important message.

I have to swing on out to the airbase with some flowers and see what comes out of the gates.

For you naval aviation types...ever see an FB-111 land with a tailhook before?

http://www.military.com/video/military-aircraft-operations/landing/f-111-belly-landing/1814867838001/

Actually that was a F111c. There were only 2 FB-111 squadrons , and all FB-111's are gone (or in museums , like the one in the SAC museum we went to). The FB-111 was a slightly "streched" version, designed as a "nuclear penetrator" , where as the F-111 is a general purpose light bomber. I have seen a video of a F-111B using it's tail hook.(The F-111B was the carrier version in the original TFX, all service "fighter" program. The Navy version , designed to carry the AIM-54 Phoneix missile , was found after carrier trials to be too heavy for carrier duty. The F-14 was to replace it, as well as carry the Phoenix).

Some where out there must be a video of it's CV acceptance trails.

Here's a link that connects with a couple of video's. http://www.usscoralsea.net/pages/f111.php

Actually at the time of the incident the RAAF operated a number of FB-111A aircraft though by the time we got them they had been converted to F-111G.

Leo,

Please forgive the candor that I reserve for a Thread brother, but I'm bound by principled conviction to make an observation:

That was a silly thing to do to yourself.

Hope you're better soon.

I know... I know... plain stupid... BTW, my wife told me that I swearing very loud...

Nice Martin!

BTW, I saw the other day one Spitfire over Europe in newspapers (I think it was Switzerland).

Was it one of yours (I suspect not)?

Back from work.

That isn't one of our Spits Leo. In other Spitfire topics, we've just seen TE311 run up for the first time in decades today. I'll stick some pictures up later, and if I can remember my password I'll maybe put a couple of videos on Youtube.

My new DSL modem is being delivered today, and DirecTV is coming tomorrow morning to install our "whole house" HD/DVR system. I'm almost free from my 10 year captivity to Time Warner Cable!

Andre, you Minnesotan's always keep me interested on the goings on over there. Today, a northern Minnesota man is sentenced for murdering his wife..............with a totem pole.
I always look out my picture window and wonder what is happening over there today. Haven't heard of any sword fights of late.

Well, I think they should have some sort of licensing and restrictions on totem pole ownership. Remember, Schanilec, when totem poles are outlawed, only outlaws will have totem poles.

I believe that concealed and carry laws will be difficult to enact. Although it will give additional explanation to those that are constantly asking me, "Is that a totem pole in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?".

I am. And, I may be the only person who has it and doesn't use it.

I'm a casual NFL fan, and not a passionate fan of any out of market team. I'll probably watch some "alternate" games once in a while, but I know many folks who could make better use of the free package.

I did test things out last night and found my DSL internet won't work until ATT sends somebody on Monday to reconnect my phone line to the neighborhood system. It's been disconnected for years as we used TW Cable for our phone service as well.

Guess I'll have to keep the TWC turned on for the internet service for 2 extra days.
