In this Task Force display you see a tanker loading resources, but the other visual indicators say we're loading oil. Which is right?

It would be a good idea to give this report plus a before save game to Michael for bug-shooting.

Okie dokie.......I've posted this post in the tech help section and a saved game to go with it.

EDIT: Well, not actually *This* post but the one with the picture and the question in it. So that it might be looked at and maybe fixed.
So maybe I should cease and desist my moves until I hear about whether or not there is a fix. Or I could just keep going and hope all's
well under the hood. Yeah........let's keep going and ignore this little detail.

I think thats supposed to be red colored for Oil, TK's get white for fuel and red for oil - least as I remember it. AK's are white for supply and red for resources.

EDIT: DOH! I see its under supply now - it should be reading under fuel... Mongo LIKES Sherriff! Sherriff no make fun of Mongo!

The recently departed Alex Karras played Mongo in Mel Brooks hilarious 1970's spoof of spaghetti Westerns.
Yes "Blazing Saddles" is an all time favorite of mine.

Mongo's more famous line is Mongo likes beans! but with my gaffe, this quote seems so much more appropriate.

Yes, right, well Falken dude.....as I recall you're the TF commander of TF 469. I'll see if I can't find out what TF 469 is doing right now
and post something. ( Witpqs is having a blast blasting Midway. )

EDIT: It turns out that TF 469 is delivering resources and oil to Nagasaki/Sesebo and will probably loiter about two days unloading and
then it's off to somewhere for fuel: Shanghi is a good resource for fuel right about now. I don't want to bleed Port Arthur too much
because China will need the supply PA outputs and I'm thinking maybe I should stockpile some oil in PA and maybe get ready to ship it
to the home islands. Lemme think about it some more.

My largest convoys are almost all cargo. I've got a multitude of those 1-ship TF's and they are almost always PB's or other ASW-
capable ship and the rest are almost always escorted by a PB or DD. So the number of sub sinkings is on the decrease. Now watch,
there will be a rise in the number of Allied subs connecting just because I said that the number was decreasing. Just my luck.

TF 318 is typical of the smaller TF's I've got. Typically they are for the shortest trips, the more uncomplicated routes. This one is
making the trip between Saigon and Miri taking fuel to Saigon and supplies from Saigon to Miri. I could make it a computer-controlled
thing I guess.......but I'm old-fashioned and we didn't have any fancy computer control w/ playing board games. Having said all that I'll
have to look into making it computer controlled.....one less thing I'd have to mess with each turn.

Here's TF 346. It's unloading supplies at Miri and will return to Saigon w/ a load of fuel from Miri just like TF 318. I'm planning on putting
this TF under computer control however after it gets to Saigon and loads supplies for the return trip to Miri so that it'll be all set up and
ready to assume it's own way in the world. However, I'm wondering if, when it comes under attack, does it revert to human-control?
And if not then does it continue to "do the route" if one of the ships gets sunk? Anybody know?

So here's TF 351 and I've got her sitting in Saigon, docker her, and started her loading supplies, and THEN put her on computer-
control. So I'm wondering if she's going to continue loading supplies in the next turn or start off for Miri instead. I'll put on a watch
for this TF and tell you guys in tomorrow's turn proceddings what the TF actually did.

Here's TF 352.........she's sitting docket at Palembang and wasn't fully-fueled when I came to this task force. So I used the button
"refuel ships from port" and refueled her and her escort. And I'm finding a lot of TF's not fully-fueled sitting docked in port. I'm wondering
if I've found a game bug or not.

TF 356 is going to have to change her route. I'm getting the last of the resources where she's docked, Shakuka. After this the only thing
Shakuka is going to be good for is oil every once in a while. I'll have to let Shakuka develop a big enough tonnage of oil to make a trip
pay for itself in terms of fuel and time involved. Maybe once a week or so. I'm guessing. Maybe I'll use a smaller AK for this trip and
make it computer controlled too.

Working on the turn now - just reading some of the AAR's for a break.

FYI about 1/3rd of my TF's are CS convoys - they get attacked and everything - thats where the normal/high/absolute ratings mean something. the CS TF's will spook easy and reroute around the threat.

Sorry to say but right now I've consolidated my areas that I'm putting subs into - so that may be the reason your seeing less attacks, I'm hoping more repeat attacks will increase sinkings.

Good game so far - you kicked my tail last turn and cost me a lot of TK's, I shall repay your kindness with interest sir!

Thanks for the update Jimbo. I'm working on Rob's moves right now but expect to be through about midnight tonight. Good timing

This image of Palembang shows that there are more refineries ( 1010(10) ) than oil centers ( 892(8) ) so Palembang will eventually
refine more oil than it produces. And if I continue to strip off the oil from Palembang and ship it to the home islands then there might
come a time when I'll have to shut off production of the refineries until there exists enough oil at Palembang to run them. Unless I turn
off the repair of the refineries. So I'm going to shut off the repair of the unrepaired refineries and save some supplies.

Here's what happens when you get a bunch of ships to hit a port where there's not a lot of fuel and each of the ships refuels fully and
the port runs out of fuel and there just happens to be a Heavy Industry complex in that hex that fails because of the lack of fuel. Saporro
will have some fuel shortly.......I've got fuel inbound as we speak........it's going to arrive sometime day after tomorrow perhaps.

In this image you can see how Miri has several TF's already either in port or docked that are unloading bou cou supplies and that there's
another 6 convoys on their way to Miri and they are bringing a big slug of supplies as well.

Here's some Tracker Alerts. There's one about the 42nd I F Chutai arriving at Saporro and it just so happens that the commander of
that unit is the lucky bastard that get's his attributes increased in the bottom of the table you see the annotations about the increases.
So just for arriving the commander gets certain values as he's spawned I guess. Spawned into the game I mean. His personal entry in
the database. I guess it just changed per the game engine working off of some script or other, which spells out the arrivals of what units
and when and where. Some data file somewhere was read and interpreted and presto chango we have a new Chutai and the leader for
it too. In addition to whatever else is spawned this turn. I'll have to take a look at the units arriving this turn to avoid any surprises and maybe while I'm at it I'll check out the withdrawls as well because there's something in Tracker that says some unit or other is supposed
to withdraw and I don't remember which unit it is, I think it's in the Japanese Army Aviation Corps somewhere........the 16th something.

As you can see in this Tracker image Yamagata is the worse offender in the area of spoilage this turn and it's because there's too much
supply in Yamagata and that's because I understood Yamagata to want to expand one of it's industries but I see that no industry
facility is being repaired so I'm guessing that it's okay now to turn down the "supplies required at this base" figure somewhat to get the
level of supplies to less than 8K or so.

I've had no facility failures again this turn but I expect one any day now. Sapporo needs fuel for it's industry and I need the fuel to help
refuel the ships as they doc at Sapporo to load resources for the home islands. So I need to keep my eyes on places like that or else
there will eventually be a failure somewhere in the system maybe several, that will need immediate attention so I need to remember to
look at this display each turn.

And another thing. I also need to remember to find the cities that say they are repairing but have less than 10K supplies in their city. I
can usually turn up the "supplies required" button if I need to I guess. By understanding is that they don't do any repairing unless and
until there are 10K+ supplies in the city. So I need to get the supply levels up at those specific cities.

This is the resource history of the Jap home islands. I have enough resources for another 40 days or so I guess. So I still need to keep
those resources flowing into the home islands. Supplies are up, fuel is drifting slowly down, resources are up and down on alternate
turns and oil is still slowing down. I've got plans for shipments of resources and oil from the big three out west: Balikpapan, Miri, and
Palembang. There's some more in Java that I've found already. So we should have some goods flowing shortly. Say about a week.

I just may have gotten a hit on an Allied sub. Hits on Allied subs are kinda rare, so it's a relatively big deal.

There were several surface encounters at Probo and this is only the first of them.

And then there's this night-time ship-to-shore bombardment that happened. I forgot to arrange for a spotter. Does each ship need a
spotter or is there just one spotter for the entire attack? Anybody know?

EDIT: I have since set all the float planes in the TF to recon, night missions, and 10% rest for those organizations that have more than
one pilot aboard, there are several. Which means I may have a bunch of spotters next time we do this bombardment.
