Hi all, quote:
ORIGINAL: Dixie BBC News at 6pm. I was in shot for seconds. Literally seconds! I have to say that the archive footage used was a bit poor. I don't remember the Luftwaffe sending formations of Flying Fortresses against the airfields or Fighter Command using P-47s. Or the Luftwaffe using Bf-109G fighters. Oh well, now I just sit back and wait for the requests to flood in. I expect to be opening a hospital this time next week Nice Martin - send us a link if / when you find it! BTW, reporters are as ignorant as ever (if not even more) these days... <SIGH> Most (90+%) of them have no clue about history... and popular satellite / cable programs doesn't help either... the "history" they present on various channels is appalling... Few days ago I saw (partially of course - my wife told me that I was swearing at TV shouting that what they show is ridiculous): #1 Seconds from Disaster - The Bismarck The premise was that the UK would surrender if Bismarck mission succeeded (and, of course that Bismarck was biggest and strongest battleship of all times)... #2 Greatest Tank Battles - Stalingrad The premise was that Soviets would capitulate if Germans won in Stalingrad...
