The IT Crowd. Although re-runs the episodes still run true today.

Great series.

Ken Burn's documentary on Prohibition - up to Ep 2.

lots of interesting facts, an examination of the topic from different angles, contempary photos an images and accounts (loved the film of Prohibition agnets drinking some of the seized alcohol) and of course music from the Jazz age.

Just finished watching the entire Stargate Atlantis series, now starting up on Stargate Universe.

Took a break and watched Avengers and Battleship though tonight.

I know I am going to get a kicking for this but....

I watched One Day on Sunday. Apart from Anne Hathaway's bizarre accent (that came and went from time to time for no apparent reason) I actually thought it was a decent film for a chick flick.

Okay, okay, I have assumed the position.. go ahead do your worst.

Well I've seen a lot worse. Well no, not that many really as Chick Flicks aren't ordinarily my thing, but this one was okay.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Pearl Harbor was a pile of steaming, festering horse manure, but I'm frankly surprised the following was not a scene from the film:

Rafe McCauley: My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.

Nurse Kate Beckinsale (whatever her name was): When will you be back?

Rafe McCauley: I can't tell you that. It's classified.

The sad thing is, it probably was, and no one noticed

I think this is a clip from "The Idiot", Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

Speaking of Fyodor Dostoyevsky, you have to watch The Office (the British version). Can't find a You Tube clip but there are some of the great lines in the attached.

However Corinne Clery was nice

Just purchased on DVD one of the best series the BBC ever did; Seven Wonders of the Industrial World. This seven part series was shown back in 2003 or 4 and was incredibly interesting. The genius was in telling the stories - always a mix of triumph and tragedy - in a way that the ordinary layman i.e. numptys like me, can understand. The episodes covered the building of :

The Brooklyn Bridge
Bell Rock Lighthouse
Hoover Dam
The Panama Canal
The London Sewerage system
The Great Eastern
The Transcontinental Railway
