Hello all,

We have a new Public Beta for DC Case Blue. It is in the Members Club, you will need to register your game if you have not already. It has a number of fixes. Please check it over and let us know if you have any issues with it.

[Edit] 1.05c Beta corrects some errors introduced with 1.05 Beta, including a bug with oob customizations and divisional bonus, and has replaced 1.05b in the Members Club.

v1.05 Beta – Dec 5, 2012
    Fixes

    • In the statistics the lines saying n/a no longer popup
    • A number of Army/Front level cards have been fixed in that any air or naval assets no longer get any effect of the card and also the bug that allowed some cards to be played on its self is fixed.
    • If you start in Trappenjagd the Germans will have a chance to get some Karl Gerat replacements during May-June and also will get a few extra 210mm guns.
    • Reinforcement unit cards of aircraft can now only be placed on airfields.
    • Reinforcement cards cannot be played on locations with less than 800 structural points (thus not on lightly damaged towns or heavily damaged cities).
    • Reinforcement units arrive with only 50AP and with 25% readiness reduction.
    • Red attack arrows no longer appear on the map when moving aircraft.
    • Clicking in the detailed troop list and returning no longer resets listbox to top of list.
    • You can no longer play aircraft reinforcement unit cards during bad weather (since they would have arrived without bonus and would have been usable from your high command HQ)
    • Romenko staff points fixed.
    • A number of issues with reinf list dates have been fixed including 203rd Rifle division and 2nd Hungarian Armoured Division arrival dates.
    • The swapped prestige point statistics in Uranus have been fixed
    • Hiryashev staff points fixed
    • New Soviet ferry rule introduced. Port towns and all cities can ferry supplies over river to the other side. This ferry capacity reduces a river barrier for their supply system calculations. The ferry affectivity is also modified by any port damage. So it’s possible for the Germans to seriously hurt the supply stream by bombing the harbor.
    • Lowered the cost of the Soviet Tiblisi card to 100 points.
    • Stalingrad+Baku sudden death German victory rule replaced by Grozny+Baku sudden death rule because it is indeed more realistic to award victory on the actual final goals of Case Blue than the rather diversionary Stalingrad town.
    • Action cards had no effect on naval and air units, but now it is also no longer allowed to play action cards on naval or air units at all.
    • Fixed a bug with transport aircraft being allowed missions and ranges that are out of action point range of the aircraft in question and also improved the GUI that now shows aircraft range and predicted area supplied.
    • Supply drop range from drop-point for air supply has been reduced severely. Now uses land transfer movement type instead of supply movement type.
    • Maikop minor order wrong hex gets prestige point assigned bug fixed
    • Soviet High Command considers its strategic position one point lower while assigning minor orders until end of august 1942. This means Soviet minor orders will tend to be defensive in Trappenjagd.
    • Problem with destroying bridges on frozen rivers repaired for new games and diminished for running games.
    • Subunit creation exploit fixed.
    • Airlift operations now minimally cost you 40 AP to fly. This means maximum 2 flights per transporter unit.

They will arrive at the correct time, but i just realise i however did not update the scenario description text.

I notice with the new patch that in the Uranus scenario the russian ai don´t attack anymore. It moves its troops but no single attack after 2 turns.

My partner noticed that the Russians are getting a major mission just after taking Kharkov. When I look at the event code, I notice that if you are at level 5 you cannot get a major mission. Shouldn't that be level 6?

I also notice that in your minor code, you set TempVar1 to be the strategic level, but subtract one from it for the Soviets if the turn is less then September. So far, so good...

Except:

Line 89: CHECK: TempVar1 > 4
....Add Offensive minor order.

Which means if the Soviets are at strategic level 6 (the starting level), the modified level is 5, which is greater then 4, so they get a minor offensive mission.

and:

Line 111: CHECK: TempVar1 < 5
....Add Defensive minor order

Means they wont get a defensive one until they are at strategic level 5 (modified to level 4). Which is probably what you want.

Line 89 should probably be > 5.

I am going to change it so you cant get a major (at all) at level 6, and an offensive minor at level 6 or higher. (modified to 5 for the Russians)


Bah...I wrote the stuff up top before I realized that the Russians actually start at level 5. Which means the code as you have written means they cannot get a major (either offensive/defensive) and because they are considered to be level 4, can get a minor defensive order.

What appears to have happened is when he took Kharkov in his test, the strategic level went up to 6, which allowed him to get an offensive major order.

I ran a little test, and the Russian AI has not attacked once in four turns! I have the AI on easy....It moves units, but not a single attack!!!

Thanks for the quick replies. I did seem to have made an error with v1.05. The AI is indeed not attacking. (this sort of thing is actually the reason we do public beta's)

If you like you can manually overwrite the CaseBlue.exe with the v1.05b provided here:

Hi,

I'm running 1.05b and for some reasons, in single player tests I am running, reinforcements still come into the map with 100 AP and 100% readiness...

Also, although the notification that the version is 1.05 has been updated for Case Blue, for Trappengagd it still mistakenly states "version 1.04" on the scenario description.

It seems the term beta patch really was neccessary with this v1.05 :)

Thanks for the catch! There was a mistake in the event code of the scenarios indeed.

I am sending a new version to Matrix as we speak. And for those who dont want to wait and can manually install files you can get the fixed scenario files here:

I'm getting an "incompatible with version of Windows you are running" error. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Nothing exotic. Anyone else having a problem with 1.05b as available in Members Club area today?

Posted 1.05c which fixes a bug with oob customizations and divisional bonus. The full comprehensive installer has been replaced in the Members Club.
