My P3/500 PC had great difficulty in slowing down SPWW2. Even though I installed moslo and tinkered endlessly with the variables it was never very satisfactory. Will the SP3 engine of SPW@W address this frame speed problem?

Hello... The Steel Panthers series had a brief do nothing loop to allow he user to see animation and map scrolling. I added a function to allow the user to modify that loop. It helped with the problem of vastly different CPU speeds, but did not solve it. In Steel Panthers: World at War, I have used a Windows timer query instead of the loop, so the program should run on every 333MH 486DX or better computer at exactly the same speed. Of course Windows is not real good at keeping time, so there may be minor variance, even on the same platform, from time to time. Bye... I have found in beta testing the game that by setting certain items in the preference menu I can also slow down the scrolling speed. Or so it seems to me. Scrolling is not the problem it was before for me. You won't need a "mo-slo" type of program here. Thanks, Mike. Sounds like I'll be fine. Hey WB...junior members are we! Guess that means we gotta keep posting until we get rid of the "Junior" status. Doesn't suit us old timers!

Haha, I had to laugh when I saw that 'Junior Member' under Bill's name...

So let me get this straight. The frame rate and animation speed in the SP code is based on the CPU clock cycle speed? Just like trying to run an old copy of Wolfenstein 3D on anything faster than an old 386? ------------------ "I am not interested in the names of your fathers, nor of your family's lineage. Believe it or not, B&G, I play Wolfenstein on my 700MH PC with no problem. I don't know how I am so lucky. I pull it out when I just want to kill something...quick...with blood (G)...WB ------------------ Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

Well, I finally got a promotion of sorts, Mark and Jon. It might be too much for me, but we'll give it a shot. I wonder how many times you have to post to go from Junior Member to member (G)? I guess I should know that
