and then the 90's hit and grunge took over.

the song that started the grunge revolution http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XH332wYtO6w

I am born and bred in Washington, so was very familiar with grunge.
Often called the Seattle Sound.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbhsYC4gKy4 .....Pearl Jam

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VQWDWrXSeI ..... Alice in Chains

It was interesting to say the least to be here when grunge hit and Seattle was the center of the music world.Grunge was quite a change from the fun loving, party and have a good time 80's metal.

And then we travel to the new millennium. Grunge stops being the main music sound mid to late 90's and new styles of metal emerge.

And last but not least, a top 3 selling album of any genre of all time.

I still remember taking the shrink wrap off this album and spinning it over and over and over again. Tis, Tis, Tis, Tis

Well I can't say this stuff floats my boat generally **budd** but of course Smells Like Teen Spirit is just the business and Black Sabbath's Paranoid features on my ipod too.

Thats the thing about music..different strokes for different folks. i grew up with my dad listening to the beachboys and my mom into elvis, i still listen to that form time to time. I heard "paranoid" when i was 10 and the rest is history, been a metal head ever since. I do enjoy different genre's but i'm a metal head at heart and for some strange reason i have an affinity for Neil Diamond, go figure.
Don't tell metal nation though, i think i'd get kicked out for my Neil Diamond crush

You know i heard that listening to Neil Diamond in the backround improves your wargame play, that tip alone should keep me in good stead on the forums.

I like the crooners..myself incl Mr Diamond. I also like jazz some classical but mainly psych and mainstream pop is 99.9% not on my listening list.

Beach Boys Pet Sounds album is up there as one the greatest albums released.

Damn, those are fantastically entertaining. Some quotes I loved:

"Civilization, you got some wicked style"

"Ol' Hannibal was born a brave and clever man
He was born in Carthage to the Barca clan,
Had a talent for war and a burning desire
To see Carthage get the best of the Roman Empire."

I have downloaded all for viewing over and over.
