The Chinese units around Ichang have some of the best experience levels among Chinese armys. Their leaders are also better than most. You will not have so much trouble with most of the other Chinese units.
You also got a "-" for disruption, meaning your troops were not rested enough to attack well.

I think it is also a mistake to use a shock attack in the beginning of a battle - you do not know what you are facing and you send your troops out in the open to make a "Banzai Charge". It is best to use shock attack only when you know you have weakened the enemy a lot by bombing or bombarding him for a long time, or after deliberate attacks to remove his forts and wear him down. Your second attack was a deliberate attack, but your troops were still badly disrupted and fatigued from the shock attack and could not fight well.

Some players bring extra units to wait just outside the battle hex, and after the first battles they send in the fresh units and send out the most disrupted of the units already fighting. This allows them to keep attacking, and does not give the enemy any rest.

This shock attack is a thing by fording. I did not know that enemy was such big. The fight of the river is difficult. When time when an enemy is weak or gambling for capture is necessary, I use shock attack.

The second attack, I underestimated a penalty too much. It was failure. I retreated afterwards.

I like to gather a large quantity of soldiers in the front. I can destroy many units if I occupy it. To that end, many units are necessary for a front. I use the unit damaged with fatigue and confusion for defense.

A timing to use Extra units is difficult and is particular about me who do not completely understand a system. I want to challenge it if there is an opportunity.

Thank you

A bonus finishes in 45 more days.
I am a beginner, and when he takes a veteran into consideration, I am a tolerable result.

:Do you know?
We use Gregorian calendar.
However, we were using the lunisolar calendar still 1872.
It was changed into the Gregorian calendar from 1873.
This is the first step of our modernization.

However, there is an inside story in this.
The lunisolar calendar has a system of an intercalary month.
One year sometimes becomes in 13 months.
Since the Meiji government did not want to pay 13 times, it introduced the Gregorian calendar.
The Meiji government was very poor.

The Japanese progressed by artfulness.

That is interesting about the lunisolar calendar. I had never heard of it before.

I saw a documentary on TV about the industrialization of the world. It said Japan accomplished in only ten years what the Western nations had taken one hundred years to do. This must have been very costly for the economy and caused a lot of disruption to the old ways of doing things. It shows how hard working the Japanese people are.

Thank you for reading

spoil rule is difficult.
Are all lost if exceeded?
Since I used the supply also for the factory, I do not know how much it was lost.
Although it is now on March 20, the supply is less than 2 million.

What mean DEI?
I am reading other AARs and got to know a word called DEI.
I do not understand well.

DEI is an acronym (abbreviations in all capital letters) for the Dutch East Indies. In the game, this refers to the formerly Dutch colonies throughout (present) Indonesia, Malaysia, Borneo and so forth.

Keep up to good work!

Very effective. Those battleships are out of action for many months / years. His aircraft carriers are either sunk or out of action for months / years. It was a worthwhile expenditure.

Kaga looks like she can return safely to port. Remember to set her to "cruise" speed, provide her with ample escorts and set sail towards Singapore as soon as possible. Godspeed!

Oh! OK!
I understand it.
Thank you very much.

DEI is called “ran in” in Japanese.
Ran = Dutch, In = Indies.
However, “East” is not in Japanese.
So I didn’t understand.
An abbreviation is difficult.

Kaga returns to port and is under repair now.
The powder magazine did not explode.
Kaga takes time for a while for repairing.
Thank you.

And I understood how to use "quote" now.

I know very little about managing the Japanese economy, but I find it hard to believe that your supplies all spoiled. Most of your ports with large amounts of supply would be big enough to have no spoilage at all. What I do know:

1. If you set many of your industries to expand it will use up a lot of supply very quickly. When you initially click on the "Expand" order a chunk of supply over 2,000 points is instantly used. Then, each turn that the industry expands by "repairing" one point, it uses 1000 supply. If you expanded 100 industries in various locations, that is over 100,000 supply used every turn. Keep in mind that it takes nearly 3 years to pay back the 1000 supply used to increase one point of heavy industry or light industry. Be very careful with your industry expansion and turn off "Repair" for any that are not essential.

2. Units that have less than their TOE [Table of Establishment, the list of troops and equipment each unit is authorized to have] will draw the missing troops and equipment or vehicles unless you set "No Replacements". Each time the unit draws more equipment, supply is used.

3. Base and fortification building also uses supply. Only build the bases that you expect to use as major ports and airfields or fortresses against land attack. Once you complete the major bases you can begin improving some of the smaller bases.

4. Shipbuilding and aircraft building use a lot of supply. Consider turning off anything you are not sure you need.

5. Japan's industries use more fuel and resources than are generated in the main Islands. You need to haul fuel and resources as quickly as possible from places like Shikuka, Hakodate, Port Arthur, Shanghai, Saigon, Bangkok and Palembang. Managing these convoys will be your constant challenge. If you do not get enough fuel and resources to Japan, supply production will slow up.

There is a thread in "The War Room" section of this forum on running the Japanese economy. It will help you a lot.

The adjective "East" is included because there was a "Dutch West Indies" - Dutch colonies in the Caribbean Sea. When European explorers set out to find India by sailing west, they reached the islands of the Caribbean and found some people with darker skin than themselves. They decided they must be in a part of India, and they called the native peoples "Indians". Only later when they discovered the Pacific Ocean on the other side of the Americas, did they know that they were not yet at India. Since India was known to be to the East of Europe [from land travelers like Marco Polo], it was called East India while the islands in the Caribbean Sea were called the "West Indies".

Japan did not have this ignorance of the location of India, so there was no "East" or "West" when you write about India.

I read "The War Room".
Since there is a barrier of language, I do not understand completely. However, I understood the half. I understand a few about the rule of factory. It also knows that it will consume supply.

spoil occurred on the China continent. Moreover, it spoiled in other areas.
I set the supply of 20,000 to base in order to recover the unit who got damaged.
However, the limit was 8000. I do not know well about processing of exaggerated stack. Does it occur also except an island?
I thought that supplies decreased in number for repair. However, even if it reduces repair of a factory, reduction in a supply does not stop.

But, it will recover little by little, since spoil was finished now.
Little by little…

I like birds too if they do not squak all the time. Sparrows have a pleasant song that does not irritate me. I have owned budgerigars [Australian bird, called budgie for short], and my daughter had a green conyur [spelling?], a kind of small parrot. It was very intelligent but had a very loud piercing screech that was annoying if he did it too often.

Did you ever let Charco out of his cage? All of our birds were trained to sit on our shoulder and fly around the room for exercise. But, we were never able to train them not to poop [leave droppings] when they were out of the cage.

I have kept budgerigars too.
He was atrocious and excellent runaway convict.
He flies away in the world and has gone missing.
I think I am sorry to him.

Charco was occasionally taken out from cage.
Since I gave food even when he was small, he rode well on a hand or the shoulder.
However, he often started panic.
It is more cowardly than a parrot.
poop was thrown away here and there.
I do not keep a bird these days.
It is mainly the result of poop.

The commander of Australia also appears by this AAR in the near future. (not budgerigars)
Please look forward to it.

Very unfortunate that you did not understand how overstacking supplies and overstacking troops can use up a lot of supply. This game is so big that you will learn new things very often. Most learning comes from mistakes we make, though. I have made more than my share just playing against the AI.

I love drink.
I drink too much today
hehe

I am fain today.
Since I am in a good mood, I stick a photograph.

It is said that it is preparing in order that China may war with Japan.
We will fight by the robot of bipedal walking.
They are burned by the beam.

Of course, this is joke.
I desire peace.

I am cutting down alcohol.
It drinks only several times per month.

hehe
