My 2 1/2 year old informed us last night that he has a "bad penis" and needs a new one.

Tell him he wont have to worry about that for at least 55-60 years.

Morning Dixie... I used some of that soccer info you gave me on my English neighbor last week, and he hasn't talked to me since. Just the way I like it actually, but Mrs DivePac is very, very angry with me, oh dear.

I think you may have started a blood feud.

Hi all,

Martin, do you have some video saves from your combat in "World of Tanks"?

BTW, few more questions...

What is your favorite vehicle?

Did you pay for some stuff or you always used the "free" patch (i.e. earning by playing instead of buying)?

Leo "Apollo11"

I've got some, although I haven't uploaded any yet. TBH a lot of them are probably pretty boring to watch I tend to play long range tanks rather than close in brawlers. So there's a lot of skulking in bushes and shooting off a couple of rounds before relocating.

At the moment the Matilda is my favourite vehicle. Strong with a decent gun but so sloooooooow, once she gets into combat though she's a monster. A month ago I would have said my favourite was the StuG III or JagdPzIV kitted out for long range sniping. Most vehicles can be equipped in a couple of different ways, the StuG can be used as a long range tank destroyer or a closer range assault gun for example.

I've paid for one vehicle, the Pz IV S which I'm using to train my German medium crews. Basically a Pz IV with schurtzen and a Panther turret, good for sniping. Also the occasional premium account over holiday periods. It is possible to play and do well without paying real money for anything, you won't advance as fast as people who do pay but you aren't at a disadvantage in combat.

It's not a simulation, but it is usually a fun approximation of tank combat with a basis in history.

How do you get Elite tanks without paying?

Dixie,

According to your screenie, the most you've knocked out in one battle is 7. Weren't we supposed to ask you about the time that you knocked out 20 enemy tanks in the same battle? Let me guess how that conversation will go:

THREADster: "Dixie, tell us about the time in WoT that you knocked out 20 enemy tanks without loss to yourself."

Dixie: "Sure, mate. It never happened."

Or somesuch?

Well, there I was. Just me on my own against 15 enemy tanks. And 14 others who called themselves allies. But I knew better, they just hadn't turned on me yet. So I bravely waited until both sides were shooting at each other before shooting them in the back. Once I had finished my so called allies I took the fight to the other team. I killed them all and saved the day. Then the president of America wanted to make me king of the world because my e-peen is so huge. Butinstead I stole his car and drove to Mexico where I was declared e-emperor of the world and the reincarnation of rommel, manstein, zhukov, monty, patton, le clerc, wittmann, ghengis and liddell-hart combined.

I asked them not to put that on my stats because I'm so modest.

Completely off topic. I was looking at the Russian tech tree and I'm thinking I'm headed the wrong way with the BTs. Do you find the Heavies or the Mediums to be better for sniping (thats my style as well, the farther the better).

Incidentally, is there a zoom/binoculars function I'm not aware of?

Go for it. You know its real because they only list part of the proper name of the company but that part is in CAPS.

As a holder of Ford Motor common stock, I'm incensed. European operations have been a real drag on Ford's bottom line lately. Having a Two million Euro lottery (total = 10 million Euro purse) in a region that is a millstone for them is unconscionable!

Shift for gun sight and mouse wheel zooms you in. I assume you're using manual targetting?

I've not got any heavies and only a few mediums, and none of those are Soviet. The Germans are good sniper tanks, the Russian stuff tends to be used as brawlers. Look for the stuff with the highest accuracy and penetration. Damage doesn't matter as much if you can't hit or penetrate the other stuff at long range. Tank destroyers are the 'proper' snipers.

From what I remember (or have shot at) from the Soviet line, the KV series are not a good choice for long range. The guns are inaccurate and (iirc have less penetration) compared to the Germans and the things are so big that it's easy to hit. But the guns do a lot of damage so get up close where the pentration doesn't drop away and shoot.

It's worth asking around the forums, there's plenty of helpful people (at least on the EU one) who know far more about Soviet stuff than I do. There are a lot of guys who have played more games in one tank than I have in total.

Also, on lower tiers don't forget to take some HE ammo. Most stuff has poor armour so the extra damage HE does to HP is useful.
Remember, as you go up the tiers your tanks get better. But so do the ones shooting back at you.

What's your username on the game? I might swing past the American server at some point.

Elite is just a matter of researching all the potential modules for a tank. When you've done that you can either use the XP gained from battle to train your crew quicker or save it up and convert it to free XP (by spending gold). You pay for premium tanks, they always start as elite vehicles.

Good morning tithe... Heavy rain overnight, and still bucketing down now, and I think it is the same system that soaked Aussie. But we need it over here as we have had no rain in 3 weeks, and temperatures in the 30s(C).

That might work in UKland, but not here, I'm afraid.

You will need to tell them-pointedly-that if they ask you to pay, you're obliged to take a "Smith and Wesson" discount. See if that works for you.

Post Superbowl good Monday morning tithe...

For those of you across the pond, the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers to become the NFL champions for the playing year 2012. Season's over now until mid-June whence the training camps start again.

Just two weeks until the most lovely four words in the English language now. "Pitchers and catchers report".
