What is the best way to embark an infantry regiment from a level 1 port. I have the 147th Inf Regt at Namlea and nobody is going to attack there. Even the headhunters have seen the joys of capitalism.

Do I embark them on an amphibious TF without docking?

Barges, AKLs or those really small APs that can doc at a port 1. (in fact, all of those is your best option ;)

AKL's?? I think we sold all of those to the Sea Scouts

Christmas in March! The Logistical Fairy left 20K supply and 5K fuel at Butuan (Mindanao). That doubles our supply reserves and quintuples the fuel supply on Mindanao.

Wrestling championship from the last banyan.

This time we plan to land at high tide so we don't get so many sand/friction injuries

Here is the problem with these annoying LYB "suicide missions". Sometimes the suicide part is not adequately explained to the participants.

I don't see this as lack of progress. You lost two squads destroyed while he lost 14, and he had only 45% or your numbers. There are no forts indicated and his prep is below par. Bring in some tanks if you got'em.
Keep grinding!

This is akin to offering a medal for the first kamikaze "ace" - HQ is unclear on the concept.

I think I worked out how half of the Bn survived....they scrambled onto landing craft that were not sunk..either that or they swam ashore. 87 squads lost, 83 disabled. Gosh, I hope this doesn't get back to Port Hueneme.

Quail later sunk.

That loss of the landing craft was really bugging me so I looked up from the previous turn what was embarked aboard them trying to figure out how you can get 1,200 men on 9 LCVP's and one LCT.

The answer is you can't. It was actually 432 men and one vehicle of 7th USN Naval Construction Bn. The Bn HQ, 12 vehicles and 215 men are still at Cotabato.

Just goes to show you how much freindly FOW there is.

AND it works in your favour - the LYBs think they just wiped out a whole SeaBee Bn.
Perhaps those defenders at Davao will have their own banyan to cerebrate and use up the remaining suppry of Emporer Brand Koor Aid before your next attack. I'm sure the GIs and Leathernecks would be preased about that!

Yup. And it's not 'friendly' FOW, per se. The combat report is the same for both sides. I suppose it would be notch better if there were varied combat reports for each side.

I suppose I did know that now that I think about it but somehow I got the idea that troop loss reports during naval combat were accurate.

I take it back. This is more complicated than I originally estimated. I dont think Homo ergaster would be very good at this. Maybe WOW. Here is "Turkana Boy"..well...a recreation of his skull at least.

***********Quiet Beach, 22:00, March 18, Near Calapan, PI**************

Japanese Naval Officer, well tanned: General Yamashita wish-a to know how much cost not-ah invade Ruzon insurance.

Young man in fine linen slacks: Not invade Luzon insurance? Ito-san, I'm not sure we offer that product line.

Japanese Naval Officer, well tanned: He offah rots of sea urchin roe. Primo stuff.

Young man in fine linen slacks: Ito-san, it's going to take a fair bit more than sea urchin roe. This comes all the way from the top. Even Kandy House agrees. The American people expect things and the President wants to get re-elected. Plus, there is that nasty business on Bataan.

Japanese Naval Officer, well tanned: Beach resort on Reyte?

Young man in fine linen slacks: No, no, no, no, NO! Ito-san, I'm afraid Gen Yamashita fails to comprehend the situation. Look, I can get him a good criminal defense attorney, maybe a Swiss bank account or something but I think it's best if you boys get this over with before.....

Japanese Naval Officer, well tanned: Before what?

Young man in fine linen slacks: Look, I'll talk to Bobby, but I can't guarantee anything after say August '45. My advice for Yamashita-san is to get some extra rations down to the POW camps and to stop stealing the Red Cross packages.

Japanese Naval Officer, well tanned: Red Cross packages?

Young man in fine linen slacks: Oh come on, Ito-san. Everyone knows it. The General could stand with a little PR burnishing. THAT we can do. You tell him that for me, will you?

Hirsute man: Yeah, and don't bother with those idiotic "Fire Baloons" either.

Young man in fine linen slacks: Yossarian, you crazy SOB, what on Earth are you talking about?

Lord Admiral Sprior,

I was wondering if you've been able to upgrade to some of these fine aircraft yet. Seems as though a typical payload consists of 4x125kg bombs and a centerline torpedo. What an amazing payload! Jolly good show what.

Looks like they used some of the leftover scaffolding pipe to mount the horizontal stabilizer on that Barracuda! Strange how one slants forward and the other slants aft.

As for that ugly Mark VI Wellie, it just needs some shark teeth below that protubance on the nose and it will be cute-ugly, in a Disney sort of way.

Well, I hardly think gluing those things on the aircraft skin will do much for the aerodynamics, do you?
