My first car was a 1962 Mercury Comet, similar to this. Mine was a four door baby blue model (bought at the estate sale from a lady at my mom's church for $300), but this is close enough.

My friends called it "the Richter car" because whenever we went over a decent bump the horn would honk.

My first car was a three door Ford Escort. It had a 1.4 litre engine and knackered piston rings so it needed topping up with oil every time I pet petrol in it.

It got part exchanged when I picked up the ZS 180. By that time the passenger side footwell had some mould growing and one of the indicator lights was half full of water due to a faulty seal. And the passenger seat wouldn't tilt, iirc the exhaust was blowing as well. On the plus side it was possible to drive for a week with the low petrol warning light on.

Woof, woof, woof, hobbled out to the mailbox this morning (sciatica is a bitch) and found the lovely notes from UPS that say "You got mail!". Checked my tracker, and sho nuff, I got the plan series of HMS Virginie from NMM and the set of fregate de 18 offsets par J. Sane, and Coupe transversale faite au maître couple d’une frégate de 18, from Les Archives de la Marine a l'archives du ports. Gotta love the French. They'll talk to you in English (maybe, if you are lucky) and take your money in English, but when it comes to sending anything out, it's all in French, and UPS can go fish.

Purchased Ed Tosti's 'Naiad', from Seawich Books, and will be using his practicum to build a Sane design French fregate de 18 of the period. Plank on frame, Hahn/Antscherl/Tosti method. Woof, woof, woof.

Why me? Obviously this is blatant age discrimination. By the way , the answer is "Hammer time!". I'm sincerely hoping the judge will say "Slammer time!". Sorry , but I always found the outfit he used to wear (sport coat with no shirt, and the most ridiculous "parachute pants") to be incredibly annoying. Lock him up with "Pee-wee Herman" for "crimes against fashion!"

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was good, but way too lazy as I skipped my swim and bike ride. I did, however, watch a couple of hockey games, a bunch of good movies, and clean the house while my lovely bride and amazing goalie son took second place in his league championship tournament.

Who ? Me? I'm just responding to him the same exact way he does to me everytime I ask for an opponent. Except he say sure , yeah, whatever you want , then goes ahead on the PM and says Scenario 2 with about a thousand bizzare house rules.

CB and Steve: I had the same feeling when I saw it last night. It was a feeling of deja vu. A bad feeling, but a feeling, nonetheless.

Running far away... not quite a Sir Robin, but close!

No no no! He was arrested for resisting arrest. "Can't touch this!" as he dodged the arresting officer is the answer.

Um, Viking dude. Regarding your choice of ingredients for meatballs, I say "Neigh!" I don't want to nag you about it, but you need to revisit your inputs.

I had the hots for Barbara Felton for quite some time growing up. The way she purrs drove me nuts!

Personally, I was always a big fan of the 'cone of silence'. How it would be laid up, nonfunctional, inconducive to discussion or iterations of its replacement(s) (e.g., the closet of silence ) were one of my favorites.

Ziegfried too. Always liked him. "SCHMART!"

Way to go there Jeff. Taking another one for Team North Dakota. This time a possible blizzard. You da man. Hope you get on-line today. Still have that question for you. Seems I have a knack for missing your calls. I'll see if I can dig up your e-mail address at noon.

Yeah, I've heard. I hadn't heard about IKEA meatballs before now though.

It's a "high quality problem", to be sure and a testament to your national recycling policy.

My fixture for Scandinavian news alerted me to this news item initially.
