I just set my clocks forward sometime on Saturday afternoon and end up going to bed at the normal time. Then, when I wake up, I don't need as much coffee as USS America to get going, although, it appears I should have been on here sooner as he got the INP.

How are you getting on with WoT Yury? I've seen that you're using a lot of that Soviet hardware, take my advice and get a nice (British) Matilda and train up the crew to become an (almost) unstoppable machine of carnage How are the Soviet TDs? I'm going to go up that route on the American servers for one of my crews.

I'm 60% of the way through my second crew skill for the Matilda and she's mincing anything tier IV or below and holding her own against tier V. The only downside is that I'm terrible at playing the normal mediums now, after using the Matilda and Lee so much.

Hey Per!

Yeah...YOU!

You gonna stop me now? Huh? You can't be on duty all day every day, you know. Sooner or later, there's going to be a new Sherriff in town.

And his name is Chickenboy.

INP.

Wow, that's one brave sheriff. You waited until I had been offline for at least one day. Impressive.

Good morning. Cool out today, 7F. And I think the thermostat in the truck is kaput. I'll have to take care of that after work.

No thermostat = No heat? At 7F, yeah, that is something that needs done... Not to mention your engine will overheat...

So.. a month or so ago I started an AI GC game against the Japs...as our PBEM was going a little slow and it's tough to coordinate doing turns at times with three peeps...and the AI doesn't complain about my pace..

Its Feb 1 42'...Japs have 1k ac losses to my 300...far more ships lost and two CVs....HUGE losses for the Japs at Singapore and Manila/Clark and China...something tells me I need to up the difficulty level (at Historical currently) or stick to PBEM...Bill and Hartwig are keeping us on our toes! Previous AI games were not this skewed..and were still on historical. I think I've caught a few breaks and the Japs have NUMEROUS unescorted invasions.. KB is NON Existant..while they split it up and combined with Mini KB.. that was sunk between Noumea and Louganville a month ago...Force Z went on an absolute tear through the DEI...hitting invasion forces after invasion forces...and even taking it easy and not taking adv of dumb AI moves...She has 75+ ships to her name last I checked.

I am enjoying two day turns over one day turns. You have to think a little more I think, and I like that.

I guess my question is how much would the game improve if I were to up it to the hardest AI settings?

I'm enjoying it quite a bit. In fact, I could say that I dont suck under most circumstances. I realized that in order to play TDs you have to be very conservatively. Hide as far away from the action as possible, find good lines of sight and shoot & scoot a lot. My highest is a level 5 SU-85 with cammo netting and periscope, the crew is currently at 97%. I also developed a bit if a love/hate relationship with the 122mm derp gun. Its awesome in that I can take out most level 5 vehicles (and even some level 6) in one or 2 shots, but the 5 rpm reload rate (as opposed to the 12-something on the 85mm) is a killer if anyone is shooting back. Not sure if that is the primary reason I cant get more than 5 kills a map or if its just my inherent inability to play these types of games. Not sure if I want to go any higher than level 5 right now but I'm afraid that playing the same maps over and over again will get very old very quickly.

EDIT: Incidentally. I wanted to pick your brain on the crew thing for a while now but keep forgetting. DO you generally buy the vehicle without a crew and move he one from the previous vehicle up?

If so, what is the advantage?

It is on the front burner for after work. 7F. is not bad. Thank god it isn't -20F. or more. That would be rather uncomfortable.

Bought myself another big Lancaster, one I've wanted for a while. Admiral Prune is inbound... It looks like I'll be needing a big display cabinet I think Mrs Dixie would have preferred my original idea of collecting stuff from the CBI theatre. Instead I'll be getting a Battle of the Ruhr theme as well, although she thinks it's instead of. The bombers are nice, but they don't come up often and they're usually damned expensive. I looked at getting PA474 as Phantom of the Ruhr but it went for £150

I picked up a Tamiya 1/350 Fletcher kit the other day. I am getting pretty good at the 1/700s and am ready to try something with more detail.

He already has. But apparently I'm the one who is rude and over reacts without the slightest provocation. He on the other hand simply does what a chicken has to do.

I tried ships. I'm not sure they're for me though. I've got a Bogue CVE somewhere (1:700 scale) and packed away in a box somewhere is a Buckley DE with photo etch to convert it to a RN Captain class frigate. But they aren't likely to get done any time soon. A small child and a lack of patience has seen to that.

So I salute you, for your ability to glue tiny bits of plastic to other, slightly larger, bits of plastic.
