Morning! Trip to the Foot doctor for just wellness check, a good foot rub by a nice looking med tech to start the day is not bad...

Stopped at local home improvement store, bought an electric edger to satisfy the wife to keep the sidewalk and driveway neat. We had been using a manual one, but she didn't have enough upper body strength to make it work right and I refused to do it all the time since I was doing all the mowing anyways. So, B&D electric edger!

I had to fire a guy who came to work drunk. Thing is, we gave him a chance, first time, told him to go home, sleep it off and come back to work the next day and keep the drunk to off work hours. Second time he went home permanently.

Can't believe someone would come to an interview that way!

Especially after you've been outside in West By God Virginia for a short time... the coal dust creates the grey and black portions of the camo, right?

It's been busy at work, the Lanc was outside for engine runs for the first time since October, the Dak was up and about and even the Hurricane went out into the sunshine.

Morning tithe... I've just been on a walk with my OT/Physio in the Park, haven't been out-there regularly for three years. We made it to the top of the hill, and could sit on an old stump. Could see the Lake below, with the high wall of the Southern Alps shimmering in behind, life is good.

Simon, Simon... Calling someone a Dunedin person could get you shot up here in the Otago highcountry, that's even though I was born in Dunedin. We call the city people 'loopies', they come here in their thousands in the holiday season and generally overcrowd our beautiful little town.

I have spent sometime in Dunedin, mainly in Hospital or on shopping trips. I'm afraid I can't recall meeting your friend, but their are about one hundred-thousand people living in Dunedin.
One thing I did realize when I was in the cities in the UK on my OE; was how much the Buildings in Dunedin were like buildings in the UK cities.

I quite like that program too, it is well acted and has a good story-line. But being a 'Colonial' also, it sort of grates me on how far the British upper-class were up themselves.

Afraid I'm not into that sort of site-seeing,do like the movies and books though.

Just down the road from where we live, is the forest where the house chase in the first movie was filmed. My brother and I used to shot rabbits there when we were kids, wouldn't do it now though, as we would probably shot a happy-camper by mistake.

Also most of the mountain scenes in the Lord of the rings movies, were shot within fifty kilometers of here. So you can see why it's really great for me to get to that stump, so I can see those same mountains.

That's truly cool, Des. I am glad that you can easily see those - on clear days. I've been a Tolkein fan since I first read The Hobbit at age 13. That early scene in the movie with Frodo and Sam leaving Hobbiton for some reason always reminded me of my best friend from high school and myself. I got him into backpacking, though he was never as adventurous as I - thus when I watch those scenes I always reflect back on those days...

Nice, Des. I have looked at the areas in NZ on Google earth and looked at pictures taken there. Without all the props things don't look the same.
