I passed my first Microsoft Certification exam yesterday - Software Development Fundamentals. It's only the beginning level, MTA, but considering I am not a developer, but software QA, I'm pretty damned proud of it.

Congrats Mike

Thanks guys.

We have several QA folks at our company and we have no real defined "certification" track for professional development. I'm the guinea pig who is trying to figure out what we can and can't manage to get certified in with almost no time to actually do any programming as part of our jobs.

Just recieved a MMS from a colleague of mine, so I can at least show you guys one picture from the exercise i did last week.

We were just outside a small village far up north and I'm in the process of giving the students (Captains all) a tactical problem on how, with a reinforced mech battalion, to conduct a relief-in-place with some allied troops defending the village and then continuing with an attack beyond.

I was standing on a hard packed snowmobile track outlining the problem, when I made the mistake of taking one step back ... landing me where I am in the picture. Of course, I continued talking all the way as if nothing had happened, despite a certain amusement among the captains

Never noticed that one of my colleagues took a picture, but he did.

By the way, Per, I forgot to mention what a great picture this was yesterday. Good stuff.

A classic. I bought this book for several of my friends with small children. Samuel L. Jackson is an intuitive fit for narration too!

...Sonos...comments?

i'm under a lot of pressure from the WU to minimize my stack of audio equip and this seems like a decent solution...the Playbar would be perfect aestetically for our den, but i'm worried about sound quality...

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR... What the [replacement word] is going on with the internet, over the last three days I've been locked out of AoL, and Skype for my own protection. Then this morning I can't access Photobucket and twitter, is New Zealand being quarantined from the net for some reason.

Mostly, I remember him from "The Carol Burnette Show". He and Harvey Corman always cracked each other (and me) up.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. More arctic temps coming in next week. March is looking to be having the lowest high temps in over a hundred years. Maybe we'll lose the snow in August.

Anyway...Good morning and coffee.

Would it help if I told you that we're thawing out this week? Today will get up to 45F. Lots of sunshine and dripping icicles here.

What's that? It wouldn't help? Oh. Sorry.

Tomorrow, Schani, as I'm listening to UND hockey, I'll be thinking of that line from the Borg queen in Star Trek: First Contact, "Watch your futures end..."

Actually got up to 30F. yesterday. So a pretty good melt. My reach 38F. tomorrow. Then colder next week. I know I asked for a slow thaw, but come on, really.
They and the Goph's are on ESPNU. Which I don't have, so I also will be listening to das radio.

Borg Queen? [making motion, over my head]
